Theft

Monday, Nov. 11, 2013 at 1:59 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding sunglasses that had been stolen from Centennial Towers. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with a student who stated that they had forgotten the sunglasses in a restroom for approximately half an hour and that when they returned to retrieve them, they were gone.

Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 at 1:40 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding the theft of personal items from the Ritchie Center. Upon arrival at the scene, officers contacted a Coors Fitness Center member who stated that their cell phone and clothing were stolen from an unlocked, unattended locker while they used the facilities.

Medical Assist

Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 at 12:29 a.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding a student in need of medical assistance in Nelson Hall. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke briefly with Denver Fire Department (DFD) officials and paramedics who were on the scene providing assistance. The student was transported by paramedics to Porter Hospital.

Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding a staff member in need of medical assistance in the Chambers Center for the Advancement of Women. Paramedics arrived on the scene and transported the staff member in question to Porter Hospital.

Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 at 12:52 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding a student of concern in Ruffatto Hall. Officers arrived on the scene and contacted paramedics who provided assistance to the student in question.

Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013 at 1:14 a.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding a staff member in need of assistance in the Ritchie Center. Officers arrived on the scene, contacted the staff member in question and contacted paramedics. Paramedics transported the staff member in question to Porter Hospital for further treatment.

Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013 at 2:33 a.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding an injured unaffiliated party near the Daniels College of Business. Officers responded to the scene and provided assistance to the unaffiliated party until paramedics arrived and transported them to Denver Health.

Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 at 2:56 a.m. – While on routine patrol, a DCS officer observed paramedics at Centennial Halls. The officer contacted paramedics who were treating a student. Paramedics transported the student in question to Porter Hospital.

Vandalism

Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 at 9:47 a.m. – While on routine patrol, a DCS officer observed a broken gate arm in parking lot 103. Officers conducted a review of surveillance footage and determined that the gate arm had been intentionally damaged by a student. The student’s vehicle was immobilized.

Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 at 2:25 a.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding bias-motivated statements that had been written on a flyer in Johnson-McFarlane Hall. Officers responded to the scene and spoke with Housing and Residential Education (HRE) staff who stated that the flyer had been vandalized sometime around 1:00 a.m. A cursory review of surveillance footage revealed a suspect in the incident.

Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 at 2:42 a.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding vandalism to posters in Johnson-McFarlane Hall. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with HRE staff and a witness who stated that a student had intentionally vandalized several posters in the building.

Vehicular Collision

Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 at 5:08 p.m. – While on routine patrol, a DCS officer observed a DU student who appeared to be injured near the intersection of South High Street and East Warren Avenue. Officers contacted the student in question and an unaffiliated party who was also on the scene. Both parties stated that the student (who was on a bicycle) was hit by the unaffiliated party who was in a vehicle. Denver Police Department (DPD) officers responded to the scene and cited both parties for failure to yield.

Trespassing

Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 – DCS responded to a call regarding an unaffiliated party who was yelling at students near the Daniels College of Business. Upon arrival at the scene, officers contacted the unaffiliated party in question and determined that they were heavily intoxicated and had outstanding warrants for their arrest. DPD was called to the scene where they arrested the unaffiliated party.

Detox

Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 at 2:59 a.m. – While on routine patrol, a DCS officer observed a DU student who appeared to be intoxicated. The officer contacted the student who then attempted to flee. DPD was called to the scene where they cited the student for assault and transported them to Denver Cares.

Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013 at 2:00 a.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding an intoxicated student in the Ritchie Center. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with the student in question and determined that they were too intoxicated to remain safely on campus. Officers contacted paramedics who transported the student in question to Denver Cares.

Narcotics

Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 at 8:23 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding the discovery of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Centennial Halls. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with a Sodexo employee who stated that the items in question had been found on a couch inside the dining hall.
