Idiosingcrasies auditions

The DU Accapella group, Idiosingcrasies, will be holding auditions today, tomorrow and Thursday from 6-8 p.m. All students interested in auditioning need to sign up on Driscoll Bridge or contact Caitlyn Shea at cshea@du.edu.

Mommy Mixer

The next Mommy Mixer event will be held tomorrow at 6:45 p.m. at Rock the Cradle. Mommy Mixer is a regular networking event that connects local families with DU students interested in babysitting or nanny opportunities.

recruitment

Formal Greek recruitment will begin this Thursday for women and this Friday for men. The events will last through the weekend for both men and women.

Election 2008 Festival

Election 2008 Kick Off, a political festival of election information including campaigns, ballot issues, first time voter information, voter registration and a soapbox competition will take place on Driscoll Lawn Thursday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Healthcare career fair

The HEALTHeCAREERS Network and the Colorado Hospital Association will host a Healthcare career fair Thursday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. in the Cable Center.

Health and IR

lecture

Tom Novotny, professor of epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of California, will give a talk on the role of health in international relations Thursday at 5 p.m. in the Joseph Korbel School of International Studies.

Teach for America applications

Applications for Teach for America are due by Friday at 1 a.m.

Recent college graduates who join Teach for America spend two years teaching in low performance urban and rural public schools and becoming leaders in expanding educational opportunity for all.

Festival

International

Festival International, a celebration of cultural diversity takes place Sunday from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. at Fletcher Plaza.

Festivities will include food, art, music and dance from more than 20 nations. Volunteers interested in

assisting with the Passport to Culture children’s interactive cultural program are encouraged to contact Peg Alt at palt@auroragov.org.

Political debate

Partners in Learning will present a “polite and respectful” political debate between David Sirota and Dennis Prager titled “What’s better for America – Liberal or Conservative Ideas” Monday at 7 p.m. at South High School.

Democracy

Matters

The DU Chapter of Democracy Matters, headed by senior Phil Barrett, is looking for two co-vice presidents to help with events throughout the year.

Democracy Matters is a nonpartisan project focused on mentoring the next generation of leaders dedicated to strengthening democracy.

Students organize actions and projects connecting pro-democracy reforms to issues of environment, civil rights, education, health care and foreign policy.
