The fourth-annual 3.1 mile Polar Bear Run will take place Sunday at Washington Park.
Runners will raise the hoped $3,000 for the Kempe Children’s Center. Founded in 1972 by Dr. C. Henry, the Kempe Children’s Center treats and neglect. The center continually works toward the prevention of child abuse through educational, training and research programs.
Everyone who enters gets a free long sleeved t-shirt and refreshments after the race along with an awards ceremony.
The race starts promptly at 10 a.m. for the runnersand 10:02 a.m. for those walking.
To join the more than 200 runners and walkers expected, you must register. Registration on Sunday will be from 9-9:59 a.m. and costs $20 for DU students and $25 for non-DU students. Pre-race day registration costs $15 for DU students and $20 for non-DU students.
There are four ways to register, mail in the registration form, which is available outsid the Student Involvement Center, go online and register at www.bkbltd.com by midnight Tomorrow, register in person at any Runners Roost until today or go into the Student Involvement Center and get more information, located at the top of the Driscoll Bridge in Driscoll North.
Top individuals will be awarded in their respective age categories. Also, an overall team spirit award will be given to the group with the largest percentage ofparticipation.
