Jan. 11 1:25 p.m., a DU student reported unknown person stole personal items from his secured residence at Centennial Towers. Campus Safety responded, completed the investigation and advised the student to file a report with the Denver Police Department. 4:46 p.m., a Resident Assistant reported an odor of marijuana at Centennial Towers. Campus Safety responded and confiscated a small amount of marijuana from a residence. Campus Safety’s investigation is ongoing.
Jan. 1212:06 a.m., a DU student reported a lawnmower on fire on the sidewalk west of Lot H2, south of Ben Cherrington Hall. Campus Safety and the Denver Fire Department responded. The fire was extinguished by Campus Safety. There were no injuries or property damage. 1:52 a.m., a DU student reported a fight in the 2000 block of South University Boulevard. Campus Safety responded and was unable to locate any disturbances in the area.2:40 a.m., a DU student reported an underage DU student intoxicated and ill at Centennial Halls. Campus Safety, the Denver Fire Department and paramedics responded. Paramedics transported the student to Porter Hospital for treatment. 9 a.m., a DU staff member reported a DU student injured her hand in a doorway at the Shwayder Art Building. Campus Safety responded. The student refused any medical assistance.
Jan. 144:29 p.m., a Campus Safety Officer reported an odor of marijuana coming from a residence in Centennial Towers. The residents of the room were contacted by Campus Safety. No marijuana or paraphernalia were found. 4:25 p.m., a DU student reported the toilet to his residence at Curtis Hall overflowed while he was away on vacation. Campus Safety responded and notified Facilities Management. 7:00 p.m., a Campus Safety Officer reported unknown person(s) spray painted the parking lot sign to Lot 109, southwest of Johnson-McFarlane Hall. Facilities Management was notified. 11:45 p.m., a DU staff member reported unknown person(s) stole a floor buffer from the loading dock at Centennial Halls. Campus Safety responded and completed the investigation.
Jan. 156:10 p.m., a DU staff member reported a hole in the floor of a concession stand at the Ritchie Center. The hole was above a women’s locker room. Campus Safety responded and notified Facilities Management for the Ritchie Center. 5:46 p.m., a DU student reported another DU student was suicidal on the Park Hill Campus. Campus Safety and the Denver Police Department responded. DPD transported the student to Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center for treatment. 9:15 p.m., a Campus Safety Officer reported a traffic accident in Lot 315, east of Penrose Library. There were no injuries. The Denver Police Department’s assistance was declined. 11:54 p.m., a DU student reported another DU student had a gun at Johnson-McFarlane Hall. Campus Safety responded. The investigation revealed that the student did not have a gun, but a cigarette lighter shaped like a gun. The lighter was confiscated by Campus Safety and held at the CSC for safekeeping.
Jan. 164:14 a.m., a DU staff member reported another DU staff member stole shoes from a locker room in the Ritchie Center. Campus Safety and the Denver Police Department responded. The staff member was arrested and taken into custody by the DPD.
