If you’re an undergraduate student and are taking six or more credit hours in a traditional program, you can ride free on all Denver RTD buses and local Light Rail.

In addition, undergraduate students will receive a discount on express, regional, SkyRide and express Light Rail services equal to the value of a peak-hour cash local fare. This amount is currently $1.25.

A letter has been sent with a bus pass sticker to all undergraduates, valid until June 6, 2002. Affix the sticker on the front of your current Pioneer Card, above the University of Denver logo. If you do not receive the bus pass sticker, bring your Pioneer Card to the Pioneer Card office and get your pass to ride free.

The main RTD buses serving DU are Route 21 and Route 11. The main stops for Route 21 are at University Boulevard and Evans Avenue and outside the north side of Driscoll Bridge on Evans Avenue and High Street, in front of the Fisher Early Learning Center. The main stop for Route 11 is at University Boulevard and Evans Avenue.

RTD buses run about every 15 minutes Monday through Friday. On Saturdays they run about every half hour, and on Sundays every hour.

When boarding the bus or Light Rail, present your Pioneer Card to the RTD driver in order to ride free. For information on routes and schedules you can go to www.RTD-Denver.com

The Pioneer Card also has other advantages. The back of the card has an AT&T long distance option that you can activate.

By showing your ID at the DU bookstore, you can get discounts on computer software. Your Pioneer Card can also get you discounts on DU sporting events, entertainment and theater tickets.
