Junior men’s tennis player Benny Althaus fell one match shy of qualifying for the ITA All-American in Tulsa, Okla. this weekend. Althaus won his first match but lost the second (6-3, 6-4) to Jan Zelezny of LSU. Senior Adam Holmstrom has already qualified for the tourney which will begin Oct. 4… Annette Aksdal and Mallory Voelker of the women’s tennis team will compete in the qualifying round of the ITA- All American singles today in Los Angeles… The DU women’s lacrosse team competed in their first fall exhibition game this past weekend at home against Notre Dame and fell 17-10. Megan Carver, Ali Flury, Megan Zeman and Tulley Stapp scored two goals apiece for the Pioneers and sophomore goalie Katie Gold had 14 saves in front of 172 fans at Peter Barton Lacrosse stadium… The men and women’s basketball games will be televised on FSN Rocky Mountain seven times combined this season. Men’s games will be televised against Wyoming, Colorado, Northern Colorado, North Texas and Louisiana-Lafayette. The women will have their games against Duke and Colorado State televised… It was announced this past week that the men’s basketball team will open the 2K Sports College Classic at the Oklahoma regional on Nov. 8 against East Central Oklahoma…
