Indigo Journeys exhibit opening
Join the Museum of Anthropology this week in celebrating their latest exhibit, “Indigo Journeys: The Career and Collection of Kate Peck Kent.” The exhibit features African textiles collected by Kent, a DU anthropologist. The Museum of Anthropology is located in Sturm Hall, Room 102 and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Diversity Week
This is a week-long event that started Saturday and will continue through this Friday. Inspired by the PLP (Pioneer Leadership Program) Community Change Initiative Project, the program is meant to create awareness and educate the DU undergraduate community about the different issues of diversity and how students can help out. This week features many different events, including: A Tunnel of Oppression, a Write on the Wall Project displayed throughout the week, international meals in the dining halls and at the International House, interesting and inspiring speakers, a DUPB-sponsored movie on Thursday night, fun and educational activities on the Driscoll Bridge all week long and many other activities. Greek Week
For DU students involved in Greek Life, there will be a week of activities beginning tonight at 8 p.m. in the Driscoll Ballroom with “You Don’t Know Greek” trivia game. On Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Hamilton Gymnasium will be the dodgeball tournament, followed on Thursday at 7 p.m. by a talent competition in Lindsey Auditorium. Friday will be DU Volunteer Days, starting with breakfast in the HRTM building at 8:30 a.m. followed by various service projects. On Saturday, there will be Greek Olympics, a DJ and a barbeque on the Driscoll Lawn at 12:30 p.m. and Greek Awards at 7 p.m. in Davis Auditorium. Spring government and nonprofit career and internship fair
On Wednesday, from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Driscoll North Ballroom, representatives from more than 40 organizations in the government and nonprofit sectors will meet with DU students and alumni. Sponsored by Public Events at DU, students and alumni can attend the career fair to access nonprofit and government organizations for potential jobs, internships, summer jobs and volunteer experiences. Many areas of federal and local governments will be represented including public service, law enforcement, international service and business. Multicultural Story Circles
On Wednesday join DU Hillel, Partners in Learning, Judaism Your Way, and the Center for Multicultural Excellence for Multicultural Story Circles event from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Craig Hall community room. Participants will explore issues of diversity through stories. Come share your story and listen to other DU students’ stories about culture, diversity and being a social justice ally. Enjoy a light kosher meal and learn a little about the Jewish holiday of Passover. The first 30 students who RSVP get free tickets to the “Let My People Go” concert, a Jewish and African-American celebration of freedom. DCB “Voices of Experience” lecture series continues
On Friday, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the Daniels College of Business will be hosting a lecture as part of the “Voices of Experience” series titled “The Insider Speaks Out,” addressing the ethical issues involved with big tobacco industries. Entrepeneurship lecture

Chancellor inauguration
On Thursday starting at 1:15 p.m., the Board of Trustees invites you to attend the inauguration of Robert D. Coombe as the 17th Chancellor of the University of Denver. The procession will be in Magness Arena at the Ritchie Center. More than 120 college and university representatives have been invited to join DU as it celebrates this important event in the institution’s 142-year history. After the ceremony, Chancellor Coombe will speak about his vision for the university and his goals for the future. An inaugural reception begins at 2:30 p.m. in the West Concourse of the Ritchie Center.
Professional lacrosse team to visit DU
On Thursday, the Denver Outlaws, Denver’s new professional outdoor lacrosse team, will be riding onto the DU campus. The Outlaws are joining forces with the University of Denver Programs Board (DUPB) to bring “Denver’s Most Wanted” lacrosse team to the DU community. The free event will be held on the Driscoll Green from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and features food and beverages, T-shirt and prize giveaways, player appearances and raffles for tickets to the Outlaws’ inaugural season this summer at Invesco Field at Mile High.
Celebrate Earth Day
On Thursday at 7 p.m., Celebrate Earth Day with Rock the Earth, the Alliance for a Sustainable Colorado and the University of Denver at the Colorado premiere of “Mama Earth,” a new documentary featuring sustainable solutions for restoring the Earth. The film will be shown in Boettcher Auditorium. Director Leslie Bloom-Van Ee will be in the audience for a question-and-answer session following the film.
Opera opening night
Opening on Thursday, the Opera Theater Department and the Lamont Symphony Orchestra present Gaetano Donizetti’s “L’elisir d’amore.” The performance runs at the Gates Concert Hall, Newman Center for the Performing Arts from 7:30 to 11 p.m Thursday through Saturday, and a matinee at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.

DUPB Thursday night movie

Free bowling tournament
Starting Friday through next Friday, April 28, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, DUPB is hosting a free, themed bowling tournament. The theme is television/movie families (i.e. the Flintstones, Simpsons, Malcolm in the Middle, etc.).
There will be prizes for the winning teams such as gift certificates to Chipotle, DU hoodies, DU mugs and much more. Teams are judged on three criteria: bowling score, team costume and orginality/team spirit. Participants enjoy two hours of free bowling on DUPB (shoes included). Doors Open in Denver
Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Doors Open Denver will run in downtown Denver. Produced by the Denver Office of Cultural Affairs, Doors Open Denver is an annual event offering residents and visitors the opportunity to experience Denver’s architectural gems and lesser-known treasures over one weekend of self-guided and expert-led architecture tours. Club men’s Basketball is hosting a 3-on-3 tournament in Hamilton Gymnasium on Saturday from 1 to 7 p.m. Number of players per team is 3-4. The tournament will be sponsored and prizes given by: Stadium Inn, Spanky’s Road House Grill, Fuhgidabowdit Pizzeria, Papa John’s Pizza, Quizno’s Subs, Bruegger’s Bagels and Mustard’s Last Stand. Denver Pan African film festival
