If you were looking for a ticket to Mustache Bash after noon last Tuesday, you were already out of luck.

Members of Lambda Chi Alpha sat at tables set up on the Driscoll Bridge and in front of Sturm on Monday and Tuesday selling the $15 tickets which sold out in record time.

“We always expect to sell out fast, but this was unexpected,” explained junior Rick Lambert.

The event will be held this Thursday at the Gothic Theatre. Till then, there will be many unused razors.

Mustache Bash is one of DU’s most popular parties, drawing students from all classes to get down with Kinetix, a band that got its start right here. Now Kinetix tours the country playing festivals and venues, gaining a national following.

Across campus, guys are growing beards and mustaches in preparation for this 70s-themed party. Girls, lacking in the ability to grow facial hair (except for the lucky few) are inevitably pointing their fingers and cracking jokes.

Junior Doug Finn started growing out his facial hair two weeks ago.

“I just shaved off my beard today because I couldn’t get a ticket,” the disappointed ZBT President explained.

Although they probably didn’t need the help, the Lambda Chi Alpha was offering free Qdoba to those who purchased tickets. The food was donated by the restaurant and certainly made happy buyers out of some students.

Members of the fraternity are excited for the event and say it will be better than ever.

“I expect Mustache Bash to be the grooviest event to hit DU since last year’s Mustache Bash,” said member Sam Wald.

There is also a raffle, with a grand prize of a week-long cruise for two including air fare. All proceeds from the vent will benefit the fraternity’s philanthropy.
