Fishbowl discussion
Tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Craig Hall Community Room in the Graduate School of Social Work will be the forth in a series of fishbowl discussions on current issues. This discussion’s topic is “In the Shadows: Voices on Immigration in the U.S.” Come observe and participate in conversation that welcomes all viewpoints. May Days arrive
The 2006 May Days will run this week. Today from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., learn about club sports or get peer advising help at the Peer Academic Advising Fair. Large inflatables to play on will be on the Driscoll lawn as well. On Wednesday, the 80’s Play Day will feature bingo, prizes, music and candy on the Campus Green. On Thursday, come sit on the lawn and relax to the tunes from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. for the May Daze Music Fest when local bands will be performing on the campus green all day, followed by a “sundress and sportcoats” dance on the lawn from 8 to 11 p.m. Finally, on Friday, the first campus golf tournament will take place on the Driscoll Lawn, which you can sign up for at www.daniels.du.edu/campusclassic. Diversity Summit
The fifth annual Diversity Summit at DU will run on Friday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. This year, the theme of the Summit is “Revelations From the Storm: Katrina, Higher Education, and Issues of Diversity at DU.” The workshops for this year’s summit have been designed to expose and examine some of the salient issues impacting different groups that constitute DU’s diverse community. The keynote speaker will be Alma R. Clayton-Pedersen, speaking on “Achieving Greater Expectations by Making Excellence Inclusive.” Registration starts at 8 a.m. in the Driscoll Gallery and the summit is free and open to the public.
