Pillar vandalized at law school
Vandalism at the Sturm College of Law was reported to Campus Safety by a DU staff member on Monday, Feb. 2, at 2:11 p.m.
Unknown parties had vandalized a concrete pillar on the west side of the building.
Facilities Management has been notified.
Student trapped in elevator
A DU student was caught in a broken elevator in the south tower of Centennial Halls at 3:29 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2.
The Denver Fire Department was called in to release the student, who sustained no injuries.
Facilities Management was contacted to fix the elevator.
DU vehicle hits student vehicle
A traffic accident in the L lot near the Sturm College of Law was reported to Campus Safety at 6:39 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 3.
A university staff member hit a parked vehicle belonging to a DU student while trying to park a DU vehicle.
There were no injuries, but some minor damage was reported.
Campus Safety has attempted to notify the student of the accident.
Student injury at Ritchie Center
Campus Safety was called in to the Coors Fitness Center at 5:47 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 3, after a DU student reported that he was struck in the back by another student while playing basketball.
According to witnesses the incident did not appear to have been intentional.
Police and medical assistance were declined.
Parking lot gate broken
A university staffer filed a report of vandalism in parking lot E near the Campus Safety Center on Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 8:20 a.m.
A student broke the parking lot’s gate arm at 10:27 p.m. on Monday.
The student was issued a citation for the vandalism and the Office of Citizenship and Community Standards was notified.
Wallet stolen from Mary Reed
A staff member had her wallet stolen from her office in the Mary Reed Building on Wednesday, Feb. 4.
She had left her purse in the office unsecured and unattended that morning and found that the wallet was missing when she returned at 12 p.m.
She was advised to file a report with the Denver Police Department.
Staffer caught with drugs
A Sodexho staff member was found smoking marijuana on the loading dock on outside of Nelson Hall at Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 9:04 p.m. after Campus Safety received a call reporting a suspicious party.
The staff member had a certificate for the use of marijuana for medical purposes.
He was informed that he could not use marijuana on university property and was escorted from campus.
Verbal alterction

An altercation at Johnson-McFarlane Hall was reported to Campus Safety at 9:14 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 4.
A student was pinned to the floor by another student after a verbal argument escalated.
The student had ignored a resident assistant’s instructions to release the student on the floor.
No injuries were reported and the Office of Citizenship and Community Standard was notified.
