Stolen laptop

On Monday, April 14, at 5:41 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at Sturm Hall. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student left his laptop unsecured and unattended in a classroom at 6 p.m. When he returned several minutes later to retrieve the laptop he discovered it was missing.

Damaged plant

On Monday, April 14, at 4 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of vandalism at Centennial Halls.

An on-scene investigation revealed person(s) damaged a plant in the cafeteria. The damage occurred between April 13, at 7:15 p.m. and April 14, at 5:45 a.m.

Suspicious party in bookstore

On Thursday, April 17, at 6:22 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at the Driscoll Center.

An on-scene investigation revealed DU bookstore staff observed a suspicious party in the bookstore. Campus Safety contacted the party and determined he was a DU student. The student was not in possession of DU merchandise and was released.

Damage to DU

On Thursday, April 17, at 2:20 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a hit-and-run traffic accident near parking lot 301 near the Driscoll Center.

An on-scene investigation revealed a DU staff member discovered minor damage to a DU vehicle. The damage occurred between April 16 and April 17. It is unknown where the damage occurred.

Marijuana odors in Halls restroom

On Friday, April 18, at 11:53 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of the odor of marijuana coming from a restroom in Centennial Halls. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student and three unaffiliated minors admitted smoking marijuana. Campus Safety confiscated drug paraphernalia from the student. The parents of the minors were contacted and the minors were escorted off campus.

Student hits car while intoxicated

On Saturday, April 19, at 1:58 a.m. Campus Safety and Denver Fire Department responded to the report of a traffic accident in the 2100 block of South High Street.

An on-scene investigation revealed an unaffiliated party driving a personal vehicle drove through a red traffic light and struck a university vehicle driven by a DU staff member. The unaffiliated party appeared to be intoxicated and was transported to an unidentified hospital for medical treatment. The staff member reported minor injuries and was transported to Porter Hospital by her father in a personal vehicle.

Theft and broken

On Sunday, April 20, at 1:57 a.m. Campus Safety officers were conducting a routine patrol in parking lot “C” near Centennial Halls when they observed a vehicle with a broken window.

An on-scene investigation revealed the vehicle belongs to a DU student. Campus Safety contacted the student who reported personal items were missing from the vehicle.

The theft occurred between April 19, at 7:30 p.m. and April 20, at 1:57 a.m.

Money stolen from vending machine

On Monday, April 21, at 12:54 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at Sturm Hall. An on-scene investigation revealed unknown person(s) broke the lock on a first floor vending machine between April 18 and April 21.

Money was removed but food items remained in the machine.

The food items were confiscated by Campus Safety for safekeeping. The vendor will be notified.
