Fire alarm at Lambda Chi Alpha
On Tuesday, April 8, at 2:31 a.m. Campus Safety and Denver Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity house. An on-scene investigation revealed no smoke or fire were present.
Stolen fixtures
On Tuesday, April 8, at 11:30 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at the Eleanor Roosevelt Institute. An on-scene investigation revealed unknown person(s) removed aluminum and brass fixtures from the building. The theft occurred between April 7 at 10 a.m. and April 8 at 10 a.m. There were no signs of forced entry.
Missing cell phone
On Wednesday, April 9, at 1:07 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at Centennial Halls. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student left her cellular phone unsecured and unattended on the front desk at 12:20 p.m. The student reported she returned less than a minute later and discovered the phone was missing.
Staff car accident
On Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 1:20 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a traffic accident in the 2000 block of South High Street. An on-scene investigation revealed that a DU staff member driving a university-owned vehicle backed into a light pole. Minor damage and no injuries were reported.
Stolen backpack
On Wednesday, April 9, at 4:20 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student left his backpack unsecured and unattended in a common area of the house on April 7 at 4:14 p.m. When he returned to retrieve the backpack on April 8 at 4:00 p.m. he discovered it was missing.
Suspicious odors
On Wednesday, April 9, at 5:45 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of suspicious odor at Centennial Halls. An on-scene investigation revealed the odor was caused by Facilities Management working on the heating system. During the investigation a Resident Assistant discovered a DU student smoking a cigarette in his residence hall room where he had disabled the smoke detector. When Campus Safety arrived in the room, the student was not present and the smoke detector was restored to normal working order.
Altercation in parking lot H2
On Friday, April 11, at 2:06 a.m. Campus Safety and Denver Police Department responded to the report of an altercation in parking lot H2 near Ben Cherrington Hall. An on-scene investigation revealed there was a physical altercation between a DU student and an unaffiliated party. During the investigation, the student became aggressive, struck a Campus Safety officer and was physically detained. The student was underage and in possession of a false identification card. Paramedics transported the student to an unidentified hospital for medical treatment. The unaffiliated party was removed from campus. Denver Police Department released the party to unidentified friend.
Student urinates in J-Mac
On Friday, April 11, at 12:31 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of an intoxicated party at Johnson-McFarlane Hall. An on-scene investigation revealed an underage DU student was severely intoxicated and urinated in the hallway.
The student was in possession of an alcohol container and a false identification card.
Campus Safety confiscated the contraband. Denver Police Department transported the student to a detox facility for medical treatment.
