Vehicle skid

On Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 3:48 p.m. a DU staff member reported damage to a University vehicle in the Fisher Center parking lot.

An on-scene investigation revealed the staff member was driving on S. Williams Street when the vehicle slid on the ice into a drainage ditch.

Minor damage to the stranded vehicle was reported. Risk Management will be notified.

Damaged vehicle

On Thursday, Dec. 21 at 8:19 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a damaged vehicle in parking lot 111.

An on-scene investigation revealed the vehicle was struck by a University owned vehicle.

Minor damage and no injuries were reported.

Campus Safety contacted the owner of the vehicle who was identified as a DU student. Risk Management will be notified.

Sketch envelope

On Friday, Dec. 22 at 1:35 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a suspicious envelope at University College.

Campus Safety took possession of the letter. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.

Electronics gone

On Sunday, Dec. 24 at 1:15 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at Olin Hall.

An on-scene investigation revealed University owned electronic equipment was taken from a secured conference room between Friday, Dec. 22 at 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 24 at 12:00 p.m.

No signs of forced entry were reported. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.

Elevator trap

On Wednesday, Dec. 27 at 2:27 p.m. Campus Safety and Denver Fire Department responded to the report of a party trapped in the elevator at the Evans parkingstructure.

Denver Fire Department released the unaffiliated party from the elevator. No injuries were reported. Campus Safety completed a report.

Stolen equipment

On Sunday, Dec. 31 at 2:04 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at Craig Hall.

An on-scene investigation revealed a DU staff member left personal electronic equipment in an unsecured study room between Saturday, Dec. 30 and Sunday, Dec. 31.

The staff member was advised to file a report with Denver Police Department. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.

Nose dive

On Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 8:17 a.m. Campus Safety and Denver Fire Department responded to the report of an injured party in the 2000 block of E. Asbury Avenue.

An on-scene investigation revealed a DU staff member was walking on the city sidewalk when she slipped on a patch of ice and injured her nose.

Paramedics transported the staff member to Porter Hospital for medical treatment. Risk Management will be notified.

False alarm

On Wednesday, Jan. 3 at 3:53 p.m. Campus Safety and Denver Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Nelson Hall.

An on-scene investigation revealed no smoke or fire was present.

The alarm was caused by a sprinkler alarm malfunction.

Facilities Management repaired the system. Campus Safety completed a report.

The smell of giggle smoke

On Wednesday, Jan. 3 at 11:21 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of the odor of marijuana coming from a residence hall room at Centennial Halls.

An on-scene investigation revealed two DU students were in the room in question. No contraband was in plain view.

The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
