The Pioneers were able to take control of the Summit League regular season title for the fifth time in six years as they took both matches this week.

In their first match, the Pioneers were able to defeat the Omaha Mavericks by a score of 6-1 on Friday. The Pioneers were able to secure points in doubles as Matt Summers (Maidstone, U.K.) and James Davis (Barnstaple, England) won 6-0 at No. 1 and Mattia Ros (Latisana, Italy) and Pedro Fernandez del Valle (Newport Beach, Calif.) won 6-3 at No. 2.

The Pioneers were able to pressure the Mavericks more as the match moved into singles as the Pioneers took wins in the No. 1, No. 2, No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 matches to secure the win and the regular season title.

The Pioneers pushed into the weekend with a 4-3 win in their final match of the regular season against New Mexico closing out the season with a 12-8 overall record.

The Pioneers were able to take the win at the No. 2 double spot with Ros and Fernandez Del Valle securing the win. The No. 3 doubles match was a come-from-behind victory for Daniel Krulig (Miami, Fla.) and Eric Morris (Corinth, Texas) as they won 7-6.

However, New Mexico was able to claw back in singles at the No. 1, No. 3 and No. 6 spots. This had Denver on the ropes but were able to take back the match and win in the No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5.

Denver will turn their attention to Day 1 of the Summit League tournament Friday, Apr. 26th.
