Tampering with Property

Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 at 7:29 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding vandalism to a student owned vehicle in parking lot C. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with the student in question who stated that their vehicle had been vandalized twice since November 2013.

Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 at 2:07 a.m. – After responding to a call near Centennial Towers, a DCS officer returned to their patrol vehicle and discovered that unknown person(s) had tampered with the vehicle.


Suspicious Mail

Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding suspicious letters that had been sent to approximately 20 staff and faculty members at the Daniels College of Business. Officers collected the letters for further investigation.

Theft

Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 at 1:17 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding the theft of a bicycle from Centennial Towers. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with a student who stated that they had locked the front tire of their bike to a rack on 1/10/14. When they returned to retrieve the bike on 1/13/14, they found that only the front tire remained.

Alcohol

Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 at 5:50 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding a broken bottle of wine in Johnson-McFarlane Hall. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with a Sodexo staff member who stated that they saw two unknown females enter the building, drop the bottle of wine and then flee the scene.

Harassment

Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 at 6:10 a.m. – DCS took a report from a faculty member who stated that they were being harassed on the internet by an unknown person. The faculty member was advised to file an additional report with the Denver Police Department (DPD).

Narcotics

Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 at 6:05 p.m. – While on routine patrol, a DCS officer observed the odor of marijuana emanating from a residential room in Centennial Halls. Officers were admitted to the room in question where they found and confiscated marijuana, drug paraphernalia and other prohibited items.

Criminal Trespass

Friday, Jan. 17, 2014 at 3:24 a.m. – While on routine patrol, a DCS officer observed a suspicious person near the Shwayder Art Building. The officer contacted the party in question and determined that they were unaffiliated and highly intoxicated. Due to their high level of intoxication, DPD was called to the scene. DPD transported the unaffiliated party to Denver Cares.
