Damage to University Property

Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013 at 8:04 a.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding a staff member who had driven through and broken a gate arm in parking lot H1. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with a second staff member who had witnessed the incident. The suspect was issued a citation for the damage.

Medical Assist

Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 at 11:38 a.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding a student in need of medical assistance in Frontier Hall. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with the student in question and with paramedics, who were already on the scene. The student refused transport by paramedics and instead was taken to Porter Hospital by a staff member.

Theft

Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 at 1:58 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding the theft of a laptop from the Daniels College of Business. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with an alumnus who stated that they had left the laptop in an unsecured room for approximately 10 minutes and that when they returned to retrieve it, they found it was gone.

Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 at 4:15 p.m. – DCS took a report from a student who stated that their DU ID card had been stolen from the Coors Fitness Center. The student stated that they left the card in an unattended, unsecured area while using the facilities and that when they returned to retrieve it, they found it was gone.

Slip and Fall

Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 at 6:41 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding an unaffiliated party who had slipped and fallen near the Ritchie Center. Upon arrival on the scene, officers spoke with the unaffiliated party in question who refused medical attention from paramedics.

Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at 8:47 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding a contractor who had slipped on ice and fallen in lot W. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with the contractor in question who was being treated by medical staff at the Ritchie Center. The contractor was transported by a family member to Porter Hospital.

Vehicular Collision

Friday, Dec. 6, 2013 at 3:15 a.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding a university owned vehicle that had been damaged while parked in lot 501. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with a staff member who stated that the vehicle had been damaged between 2:15 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. Officers recovered pieces of a second vehicle that was no longer on the scene from the area.

Water Leak

Friday, Dec. 6, 2013 at 4:04 p.m. – DCS responded to a fire alarm in Centennial Halls. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with a staff member who stated that the alarm was caused by a broken sprinkler head that was leaking water into the building. Facilities and Alarm Technicians were called to the scene.

Non-Criminal Incident

Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013 at 11:24 p.m. – During a routine review of surveillance footage, officers observed four students who appeared to be moving university owned furniture in Centennial Towers. Officers responded to the scene and had the students return all furniture to its original placement.
