Theft

Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 at 10:53 a.m. – DCS took a report from a student who stated that their jacket, which contained keys and their Pioneer ID card, had been stolen from the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.

Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 at 3:50 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding the theft of a bicycle from parking lot U. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with a student who stated that they had last seen the bicycle on 11/15/13 when it was left secured to a rack with a cable style lock.

Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 at 12:06 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding the theft of a backpack and shoes from the Daniels College of Business. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with a staff member who stated that the items had last been seen at approximately 6:30 p.m. on 11/6/13 when they were left in their unsecured office.

Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013 at 10:05 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding the theft of a wallet from Centennial Halls. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with a student who stated that they had left the wallet in question in a common area of the building for about 12 hours and that when they returned to retrieve it, it was gone.

Alcohol

Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 at 1:10 a.m. – While on routine patrol, a DCS officer observed loud noises coming from a residential room in Centennial Halls in violation of quiet hour policies. Officers were admitted to the room in question where they contacted six students and an unaffiliated party. Due to the unaffiliated party’s inability to provide identification, the Denver Police Department (DPD) was called to the scene. All alcohol was disposed of by officers.

Vehicular Collision

Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 at 1:52 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding an off campus vehicular collision involving a university owned vehicle. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with a staff member who stated that a student was driving the vehicle in question when they were rear-ended by a second vehicle near the intersection of East Colfax Avenue and Gilpin Street. There were no injuries to report.

Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013 at 8:40 a.m. – While on routine patrol, a DCS officer observed a student who had just been involved in a vehicular collision on the 2300 block of East Iliff Avenue. The officer contacted the student who stated that their vehicle had slid on an icy patch of road and collided with a parked vehicle. While the officer was speaking with the student, a third vehicle, owned by a faculty member, slid on the same patch of ice and collided with the student’s vehicle. There were no injuries to report.

Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013 at 9:50 a.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding a broken gate arm in parking lot 103. A review of surveillance footage revealed that an unaffiliated party had broken the gate arm by attempting to follow the vehicle in front of them into the lot. The unaffiliated party was contacted and cited.

Detox

Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013 at 3:40 a.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding a student who was highly intoxicated and in need of immediate medical assistance. Upon arrival at the scene, officers contacted the student in question and called for paramedics. The student was transported to Porter Hospital by paramedics.

Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013 at 1:21 a.m. – While on routine patrol, a DCS officer observed an unaffiliated person who appeared to be intoxicated near the Chamber’s Center for the Advancement of Women. The officer contacted the unaffiliated person in question, confirmed their intoxication and called for assistance from DPD. The unaffiliated party was transported to Denver Cares by DPD.

Medical Assist

Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013 at 5:08 p.m. – While on routine patrol, a DCS officer observed a student in need of medical assistance in Sturm Hall. The officer contacted the student and paramedics. The student refused transport to a hospital.

Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013 at 6:55 p.m. – DCS responded to a fire alarm in Centennial Halls. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with a staff member who stated that they had caused the alarm activation by accidentally damaging a steam pipe in the building, causing a room to fill with steam. The staff member stated that they had been injured during the incident. The staff member was transported by a second staff member to Porter Hospital.

Narcotics

Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 at 8:53 a.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding the discovery of drug paraphernalia in a residential room in Centennial Towers. Upon arrival at the scene, officers conducted a plain sight search of the room and confiscated several pieces of drug paraphernalia.

Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 at 10:00 p.m. – DCS responded to a call regarding marijuana that had been found inside of a residential room in Johnson-McFarlane Hall. Upon arrival at the scene, officers confiscated the marijuana and a small amount of drug paraphernalia found during a plain sight search.
