Traffic

On Thursday, April 26, at 9:58 p.m., Campus Safety spoke with a student via telephone who stated a DU-owned dumpster located behind University College had collided with their parked vehicle due to high winds in the area. The student witnessed the incident and took video of it from their private residence.

Theft

On  Wednesday, April 25, at 10:03 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from an unaffiliated party regarding a theft in the Ritchie Center. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the reporting party who stated they left their personal belongings unsecured in a locker room while using the facilities. When they returned to the locker room 90 minutes later, they found that cash had been stolen from their wallet. The reporting party was advised to contact Denver Police Department  (DPD) to file an additional report. However, they declined to do so.

Drugs and alcohol

On Wednesday, April 25, at 10:55 p.m., Campus Safety observed an unaffiliated party sleeping on the lawn near the south side of John Green Hall. When the officer approached the unaffiliated party, he discovered they were extremely intoxicated and they had prior negative contacts with Campus Safety. DPD was called to the scene to  escort the unaffiliated party off campus and explain that they were prohibited from returning to campus in the future.

On  Thursday, April 26 , at 2:09 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from DPD requesting assistance with two  students near the intersection of East Iliff Avenue and South University Boulevard. Upon arrival, Campus Safety spoke with DPD officers who stated  the two students were found engaging in sexual activity on private property and both students were extremely intoxicated.

On Friday, April 27, at 2:05 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Housing and Residential Education (HRE) staff regarding an unacceptable noise level coming from a residential suite in Nelson Hall. When officers entered the room, they spoke with one student and confiscated drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Harrassment

On Thursday, April 26, at 7:53 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from DPD regarding a domestic dispute involving a student and an unaffiliated party in Centennial Halls. Officers responded to the scene along with DPD officers and spoke with two parties involved in the dispute. One student was transported to Porter Hospital for a voluntary evaluation.
