THEFT
On Friday, Feb. 11, at 2:38 p.m., Campus Safety took a report from a DU staff member regarding a box of key blanks, which was missing. The staff member reported that the box of key blanks was delivered to the wrong building and could not be located. The box was received on campus on September 13, 2010.
DRUGS AND ALCOHOL
On Tuesday, Feb. 8, at 11:57 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Johnson-McFarlane Hall regarding the odor of marijuana emanating from a student’s room. Campus Safety officers responded to the scene and contacted a student inside of the room in question, who admitted to having smoked marijuana at an off-campus location. The student surrendered a small bottle of marijuana into Campus Safety’s custody.
On Thursday, Feb. 10, at 5:45 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Centennial Halls regarding two students smoking marijuana in the south courtyard area. Upon arrival, officers contacted four students who appeared to have been smoking. Officers confiscated one marijuana pipe from the group.
On Saturday, Feb. 12, at 1:03 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Centennial Halls regarding a student in a public restroom who was visibly intoxicated and vomiting. Officers responded to the scene, contacted the student and confirmed that they were intoxicated. Campus Safety called for Denver Cares, who arrived and transported the student to its facility.
On Saturday, Feb. 12, at 11:48 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Nelson Hall regarding the odor of marijuana emanating from a student’s room. Officers responded to the scene and spoke with several students inside the room who all denied using marijuana. No drugs nor paraphernalia were found on the scene.
TRAFFIC
On Friday, Feb. 11, at 7:38 a.m., Campus Safety took a report from a DU staff member regarding a traffic accident involving two university-owned vehicles, which occurred in parking lot E. The accident reportedly occurred at approximately 6:55 a.m. the same day. There were no injuries to report and damage to both vehicles was moderate.
MEDICAL
On Tuesday, Feb.8, at 8:38 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from Sturm Hall regarding a student in need of medical assistance. Campus Safety officers arrived on the scene and contacted paramedics who provided further assistance. The student was evaluated by paramedics and permitted to remain on campus.
On Wednesday, Feb. 9, at 4:27 p.m., a Campus Safety officer was contacted by an unaffiliated party who had fallen in parking lot E. The officer noted that the unaffiliated party had a swollen knee but refused medical attention. The unaffiliated party was instructed to contact Campus Safety if their injuries worsened.
On Saturday, Feb. 12, at 12:30 a.m., Campus Safety took a report from a DU staff member regarding an injury. The staff member reported that, at approximately 12:39 a.m., on the same day, they slipped and fell on an ice patch in parking lot 108, injuring their back and shoulder.
On Monday, Feb. 14, at 1:47 a.m., campus Safety responded to a call from a DU staff member regarding a student who in need of medical attention in Centennial Towers. Campus Safety officers responded to the scene, evaluated the situation and called for an ambulance to assist the student. The student was transported by ambulance to Porter Hospital.
FIRE
On Wednesday, Feb. 9, at 1:24 p.m., Campus Safety responded to an activated fire alarm at the Cable Center. Upon arrival, officers observed heavy water flow in the basement of the building and contacted the Denver Fire Department and Facilities Management, who responded to the scene. Facilities immediately began repairs to rectify the damage.
