It was a hot plane ride back to Denver this past weekend. I found myself surrounded by an entire Division I baseball team. That’s when I realized DU needs a baseball team and fast. Baseball players are intrinsically sexy in every way. Here’s why.

The pants.

They are not as tight as football players’ pants, which cannot reveal the true shape of the player’s body because it is blocked by layers of padding. Baseball pants keep you guessing but also give you a fair idea of what they have to offer. Their outfits are tight in all the right places.

The shirts and hats.

Baseball jerseys are superior because they highlight the player’s lean arms and strong shoulders. To top it all off, the hat. Baseball caps are sexy because they cover up part of a player’s face and make them more mysterious. When they lift up their head and their eyes come into view, the whole package is delivered.

The bodies.

Moving from clothing to the next layer of fun, muscles. Baseball players are more proportional than other athletes, which helps when it comes to many practical activities. Basketball players are often too tall and skinny for the average female. Trying to hug them can require getting on your tip toes, which is never comfortable when making out. Football players are too big, and soccer players are often on the shorter end. They’re not very tall either. Baseball players have good muscle structure because they don’t need to be huge to compete. They have lean legs and broad shoulders. The year-round tan just makes all of their muscles look that much better. Spring training does wonders for their skin.

The extras.

In addition to their natural glory, the sport of baseball brings bonuses: the boyish charm of bubble blowing, the unadulterated manliness of chew and their intact teeth, sorry hockey players. They don’t have the snootiness that is often coupled with the wealth that tennis players and skiers come from. Baseball boys don’t receive as many blows to the head as hockey and football players do. A balance between attitude and intelligence emerges.

Oh, the opportunities.

Baseball players always travel in a big group, which enhances your opportunity for engagement of all sorts. They have a short turn around time from jerseys to jeans and are not super sweaty after a game. During a game, they don’t move around a lot so it’s easy to position yourself for a good three hour viewing session. You won’t ever get bored.

The best part of all…they’re made in America, baby.
