Security Career Fair
The Graduate School of International Studies, Sturm Career Development Center, and the Future Security Professionals of Denver are co-sponsoring the Security Career Fair.
Students and alumni interested in obtaining career information, internships and employment are encouraged to attend.
Past participants include ANSER, the CIA, FBI, DEA and U.S. Marshals Service. Professional attire is recommended. This event will be in the HRTM Building today from 4 – 6 p.m.
Attorney discussion
Representatives from the Office of the Colorado Attorney General will be on campus to discuss employment opportunities and share their daily experiences as attorneys in this organization.
The Office of the Colorado Attorney General sets policy, oversees civil and criminal work, and directs major litigation.

Judicial workshop
The ‘Judicial Clerkship Workshop: Judges Panel’ will feature federal and state court judges who will speak about the importance of judicial clerkships and how to apply.
A judicial clerkship offers a unique glimpse behind the scenes of a judge’s chambers and courtroom, and how laws are impacted through the judge’s decision-making.
Ultimately, the clerkship offers a lifelong mentor.

Hot topic discussion
The Hot Topic discussion will be about legal rights for same-sex couples and their children.
Faculty and students will converse, and the conversation will be led by Julie Nice.

China relations speaker
Special guest Dr. Ming K. Chan will be speaking on “US-China Links With A Twist: Historical & Contemporary Perspectives on American Relations with Hong Kong & Macao.”
Ming Chan is a former member of the Department of History at the University of Hong Kong, where he was twice voted “best teacher” by the Students’ Union, and he is also the author of ten books.
Ming Chan received his Ph.D. in East Asian history from Stanford University.
The forum will be held Friday from 12 – 1:30 p.m. in Ben Cherrington Hall, room 21.

Softball Philanthropy
The Delta Delta Delta sorority will be hosting their annual softball tournament to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The tournament will be played at Cornerstone Park softball fields. Attendance is free.

Relationships dialogue
Dr. Howard Markman will share findings from recent Unversity of Denver studies on the subject of marriage and relationships when he addresses the Denver chapter of the Brandeis University National Women’s Committee (BUNWC) about “The Changing American Family” at 2552 E. Alameda in the Polo Club North on Monday, Oct. 16, at 6:30 pm.
This event is co-sponsored by the Psychology Department’s Center for Marital and Family Studies. The DU community is invited.

Mock trial
This program is a two-hour mock trial where student jurors decide whether fictitious high school student Patrick White is guilty of hate crimes under Colorado’s ethnic intimidation statute.
The program allows participants to discuss issues surrounding tolerance in their communities, and suggests ways to prevent the spread of hatred and hate crimes.
The ‘Hate Violence Task Force Experience’ will be held next Tuesday, Oct. 17, from 12 – 1 p.m. in room 165 of the Law School.
