Valentine’s Day is coming. Do you love the holiday of love or do you wear all black to show your disdain? This year around campus there are places for both.
Stick-e-Star will be serving a special dish of Chicken Frances, which is linguini with chicken in a white wine sauce and a bottle of wine for $29.99. The same special is $20 without the wine. Stick-e-Star will also have a lonely hearts drink special later on Valentine’s Day evening, with $3.50 drinks.
Spanky’s is having a $25.95 special on any two entrees on the menu with a bottle of wine. The restaurant will not be decorated too extravagantly, however there will be small Valentine’s Day decorations like small hearts and candy hearts.
Jordan’s Bistro and Pub will have two-for-one specials on drinks and appetizers for singles only. There will be a disc jockey as well as prizes for the best black outfit and the best breakup story.
The Stadium Inn is having a $3 special on Heineken and New Castle beer, as well as special Valentine’s Day shots. There will also be roses for the ladies.
Dietrich’s Chocolate & Espresso provides the holiday’s most popular candies. Their biggest sellers are boxes of truffles and chocolate covered cherries. A box of 24 truffles is $25 and chocolate covered cherries range from $7 to $17.
The Little Flower Market on South University Boulevard, near Bonnie Brae, does not offer specials because it is a custom flower shop. They do have the most popular flower of the season, though, which are red roses. A single rose with filler and greens starts at $12.99.
