Suspicious man near Nagel

A suspicious man near Nagel Hall was reported to Campus Safety by a resident assistant at 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24.

The unidentified man, who was underage and unaffiliated with DU had previously been contacted for drinking alcohol in the residence hall. He had told the RA he was a DU student. He had left the premises before Campus Safety officers arrived. The RA was instructed to contact Campus Safety if the man returned.

Verbal spat at J-Mac

A verbal altercation took place at Johnson McFarlane Hall on Friday, Oct. 24, at 11:06 p.m. between two DU students.

Campus Safety reported that one student was yelling at the other. The students were separated and instructed not to contact one another for the rest of the evening. Gender Violence Education and Support Services will be notified.

Car vandalized in E lot

Campus Safety received a report of vandalism in the E lot near the Campus Safety Center on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 3:10 p.m. A student parked his vehicle in the lot around 12 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, and upon returning to it on Sunday afternoon found that a rock had been thrown through the passenger’s side window. The student was advised to file a report with the Denver Police Department.

Fake ID found in lost wallet

A DU Staff member contacted Campus Safety at 9:01 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26 after finding a wallet at Nelson Hall. A search of the wallet revealed that it belonged to an underage student in possession of fake identification. The false card was confiscated and the Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.

Cash stolen from locked office

A report of theft was made to Campus Safety at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 27. A DU staff member reported an undisclosed amount of cash stolen from a secured office at the Shwayder Art Building between 2 p.m. on Oct. 25 and 7 a.m. on Oct. 27.

False fire alarm

Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm at Nelson Hall at 8:44 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28. No smoke or fire were discovered. An on-scene investigation revealed that an unknown person had tampered with the fire detector in the first floor lounge.

Student sent to detox

An underage and severely intoxicated DU student was reported to Campus Safety on Friday, Oct. 31, at 2:44 a.m. The student was taken by paramedics to a detox facility for treatment. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards has been notified.

Assault reported

A party unaffiliated with the university reported an assault on the 2100 block of South High Street on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 3:30 p.m. Four unidentified parties, believed to be students, had vandalized a house at 1:10 a.m. that morning.

The owner of the house confronted the suspects, and the confrontation turned physical. No information on whether formal charges were filed has been released.
