The Chaplain’s Office will host a discussion on religion and immigration which will address the question, ‘What do faith traditions have to say about this volatile political issue?’ today from 12-1 p.m. in Driscoll South.

Breaking the Silence week
This week is “Breaking the Silence” Congo Awareness Week, sponsored by the Josef Korbel School of International Studies and Friends of the Congo.
Talks and events will be held all week on problems facing the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with each day’s lectures focusing on a different theme.
Today at 12 p.m. Jim Cole will speak on environmental problems in the Congo in the Cyber Café. Tomorrow’s theme will be Democratic Republic of the Congo Health Solidarity Day. A ‘cell out’ campaign from 12- 6 p.m. will be held tomorrow.
Thursday’s theme is Legal Issues Facing Survivors of Armed Conflict. It will feature a talk by Regina Germain, the legal director of the Rocky Mountain Survivor’s Center, at 12 p.m. and Guy-Patrice Lumumba, son of the Congo’s first elected prime minister, at 6 p.m.
The week will end with Gender-based Violence Awareness Day, with nurse Rebecca Singer from Doctors Without Borders and a screening of the film “Lumo” in Sturm Hall at 5 p.m. on Friday.
Harvard professor to speak
The Gender and Women’s Studies Department will present a talk by Sunshine Hillygus, from the Department of Government at Harvard University.
Hillygus will offer a analytical perspective on voter decision making, candidate strategy and the dynamics of presidential campaigns based on her own work and research on the topic.
The talk will be held in Sturm Hall, room 286, tomorrow at 4 p.m.
Religion, politics roundtable
A roundtable discussion will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. by DU’s Center for Religious Services at the Driscoll Center Gallery.
Speakers representing several different religions will speak about how their faiths understand their adherent’s participation in the political system.

Evening under the stars
An Evening Under the Stars, a formal event open to all students, will be held on Thursday evening at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
Formal attire is required and tickets are $25 a pair or one for $15.

Alcohol awareness contest
Delta Zeta will be sponsoring the “iHave a Choice” alcohol awareness contest as a part of National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week, which ends on Friday.
To enter students need to submit an essay on “What is the clinical definition of binge drinking,” to Christine Razo at crazo@du.edu by Sunday.
All correct entries will be entered in a drawing for a $30 Starbucks gift card.
The winner will be notified by e-mail.
Sutton Colloquium
at Law School
The International Law Society and the Nanda Center will host the annual Sutton Colloquium at the Sturm College of Law on Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
The colloquium will focus on the war on terror and its implications for international policy and law and will feature keynote speaker Professor Leila Nadya Sadat of the Washington University School of Law.
Lunch will be provided, but registration online is required.
