Found wallet, fake ID confiscated

On Tuesday, May 13, at 12:56 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of found property at Centennial Halls.

An on-scene investigation revealed a resident assistant found a wallet in the building.

Campus Safety confiscated the wallet for safekeeping.

An inventory of the wallet revealed a false identification belonging to a student. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.

Traffic accident in Halls parking lot

On Tuesday, May 13, at 8:34 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a hit and run traffic accident in parking lot 103 near Centennial Halls.

An on-scene investigation revealed that a student had parked her personal vehicle in the lot at 7:45 a.m. that morning. When she returned at 5 p.m. she discovered damage on the driver’s side of the vehicle.

The student filed a report with Denver Police Department.

Vandalism at

Nelson Hall

On Thursday, May 15, at 8:55 a.m. Campus Safety responded to a report of vandalism at Nelson Hall.

An on-scene investigation determined that maintenance personnel had discovered damage to the crash bar of a pedestrian exit gate.

Missing student ID

On Thursday, May 15, at 1:32 p.m. a student reported that she had lost or someone had stolen her DU ID card.

She reported that she had last seen her ID when she put it down on a kiosk at Magness Arena. Campus Safety completed a report.

Safe Shuttle van car accident

On Friday, May 16, at 12:27 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a traffic accident involving a university vehicle at the intersection of South University Boulevard and East Evans Avenue.

An on-scene investigation determined that a DU Safe Shuttle van had been struck by another vehicle driven by an unaffiliated party after its driver reportedly stopped in traffic to avoid a pedestrian.

Minor to moderate damage to both vehicles was reported. The shuttle driver was cited for an illegal lane change.

A copy of the report will be sent to Risk Management and Parking Services for review and disposition.

Police break up boy-girl fight

On Friday, May 16, at 1:01 a.m. while on a routine patrol, a Campus Safety officer encountered a male and female DU student engaged in a loud, verbal altercation outside the Ritchie Wellness Center. The Denver Police Department was called and assisted in questioning the students.

An on-scene investigation determined that except for the disturbance, no crime had occurred.

The students were sent to their respective homes with a warning.

Student arrested, another to detox

On Friday, May 16, at 1:34 a.m. while on a routine patrol, a Campus Safety officer encountered a severely intoxicated male and female student on the street north of the Leo Block Alumni House.

Denver Police Department was called to respond and assist.

An on-scene investigation determined that the female student was in possession of an international driver’s license not her own and that the underage male student had an outstanding arrest warrant for a previous underage consumption citation. Denver Police arrested the male student for the outstanding warrant and took the female student to a detox facility for her safety.
