Israel and Middle East discussions
The Institute for the Study of Israel in the Middle East (ISIME) is hosting a number of speakers. On Sunday, Larry Weinberg from Israel21c will be giving a community lecture. The talk begins at 7 p.m. in Sturm Hall auditorium. Herzl Melmed, an ISIME associate will be speaking on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m. in room 201 of the GSIS.
The last discussion of the quarter is on Tuesday, March 4. The guest speaker will be Raed Mualem from Galilee, Israel. The talk is being held at 7 p.m. in GSIS, room 201.
Music and comedy night
Sidelines Pub is hosting “DU Unplugged – Music and Comedy Night” tomorrow from 8-10 p.m. The first 50 attendees will receive a $10 meal voucher to the Pub. Contact Sara Springer at sara.springer@du.edu for information on performing.
Army and society South America
The Latin American and Caribbean Studies Association at the Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS) is hosting Professor J. Samuel Fitch on Thursday. Fitch will lead a talk on “Armed Forces and Society in South America: Changes and Continuities at the Beginning of a New Century.”

Understanding the Catholic Church
Archbishop Chaput from the Archdiocese of Denver is coming to DU on Monday, Feb. 18, for a question-and-answer session about the Catholic Church. The Archbishop will discuss issues of birth control, why women cannot be priests in the Catholic Church and why Catholics priests are not permitted to get married. The event is free and will take place in Lindsay Auditorium from 7-9 p.m.
