Unlawful entry at J-Mac

On Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 1 p.m. a DU student reported an unlawful entry at Johnson-McFarlane Hall.

A Campus Safety report revealed an unidentified male entered his residence hall room at 11:25 a.m. When the student confronted the male he left the room without incident. The student later discovered that his wallet and contents had been stolen.

Bike theft

On Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 2 p.m. a DU student reported a theft in parking lot 305 near University Hall.

An on-scene investigation revealed the student secured his bicycle to the bicycle rack with an approved lock on Jan. 17 at 2 p.m. When he returned to retrieve the bicycle on Jan. 29 at 8 a.m. he discovered it was missing.

Trashing campus

On Wednesday, Jan.30, at 12:52 a.m. Campus Safety officers observed an unidentified party kicking over trash bins at the Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium. The party entered Centennial Halls before Campus Safety officers could contact him.

Stolen purse

On Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 1:35 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at University Hall.

An on-scene investigation revealed a DU staff member left her purse in an unsecured cabinet at 11 a.m. When she returned to retrieve the purse at 12:15 p.m. she discovered her wallet was missing. The staff member was advised to file a report with the Denver Police Department.

Hit and run

On Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 5:15 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a hit-and-run traffic accident in parking lot L near the College of Law.

An on-scene investigation revealed an unidentified party driving a sedan struck a parked vehicle belonging to the spouse of a DU student. Minor damage and no injuries were reported.

Theft at J-Mac

On Thursday, Jan. 31, at 11:03 a.m. a DU student reported a theft at Johnson-McFarlane Hall.

A Campus Safety report revealed the student left his wallet on the dresser in his residence hall room on Jan. 29 at 9 a.m. When he returned at 1 p.m. he found his room was unsecured and his wallet was missing. There were no signs of forced entry.

Suspicious individual on campus

On Thursday, Jan. 31, at 12:22 p.m. Campus Safety and the Denver Police Department responded to the report of a suspicious party at the Joy Burns Ice Arena.

An on-scene investigation revealed a male in the area matched the description of the suspect in recent thefts on campus. Campus Safety and the Denver Police Department contacted and interviewed the unaffiliated male and determined he was not involved with the thefts.

Vandalism

On Thursday, Jan. 31, 2:07 p.m. DU staff member reported vandalism in parking lot N near Nelson Hall.

Video surveillance revealed four unidentified males and one unidentified female break the parking lot gate arm on Jan. 17 at 9:53 p.m. The group exited through the Nelson elevator lobby. Disposition pending report review.

Underage drinking

On Friday, Feb. 1, at 12:46 a.m. Campus Safety, the Denver Police Department and the Denver Fire Department responded to the report of an ill party at Centennial Halls. An on-scene investigation revealed an underage DU student was drinking alcohol and taking prescription medication. Paramedics transported the student to Porter Hospital for medical treatment. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards and Risk Management will be notified.

Minor stuck in elevator

On Friday, Feb. 1, at 5:13 p.m. Campus Safety and the Denver Fire Department responded to the report of a party trapped in an elevator at the Joy Burns Ice Arena.

An on-scene investigation revealed the party was an unaffiliated minor. The Denver Fire Department released the minor from the elevator. No injuries were reported. Maintenance was requested to repair the elevator. Risk Management will be notified.

Traffic accident

On Saturday, Feb. 2, at 9:15 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a traffic accident in parking lot L near the College of Law.

An on-scene investigation revealed a DU staff member driving a university-owned vehicle backed into a parked vehicle belonging to an unaffiliated party. Minor damage and no injuries were reported. Risk management will be notified.
