Theft at DU Bookstore
On Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 12:08 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at the DU Bookstore. The suspect fled west on E. Evans Avenue but was apprehended by Campus Safety officers.
The suspect was identified as an unaffiliated party who was in possession of stolen DU merchandise. The Denver Police Department responded and arrested the party for theft. Campus Safety completed a report.
Intoxicated students
On Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 1 a.m. a DU shuttle driver reported an incident at the shuttle stop near East Asbury Avenue and South Josephine Street. A Campus Safety report revealed several minutes earlier two severely intoxicated students attempted to enter the van. The driver informed the students, that because of their condition, they were not able to ride the shuttle. The students became belligerent and aggressive. When the driver called Campus Safety the students left the area. Disposition pending report review.
Threatening e-mails
On Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 5:23 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of harassment at the Mary Reed Building.
An on-scene investigation revealed a DU staff member received threatening e-mails from an unaffiliated party. The Denver Police Department’s assistance was declined. Disposition pending report review.
Person trapped in frat house elevator
On Friday, Feb. 8, at 5:53 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a party trapped in an elevator at the Kappa Sigma fraternity house. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU contractor was trapped in the elevator. Facilities Management responded and released the contractor from the elevator. Campus Safety completed a report.
Students in building after hours
On Friday, Feb. 8, at 10:34 p.m. a Campus Safety officer was conducting a routine patrol in the Chambers Center when she observed two DU students in the building. The students were advised written
authorization was required to be in the building after hours and were asked to leave. Campus Safety completed a report.
Peeping Tom
On Saturday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. an unidentified DU student reported a suspicious party at the Gamma Phi Beta sorority house.
An on-scene investigation revealed two DU students were in a bedroom when they observed an unidentified male outside the window. The male left the area prior to Campus Safety’s arrival. The Denver Police Department’s assistance was declined. Disposition pending report review.
Theft at Halls
On Sunday, Feb. 10, at 3:48 p.m. a DU student reported a theft at Centennial Halls.
An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student left personal electronic equipment in her residence hall room on Jan. 31, at 10 p.m. She returned at 10:30 p.m. and discovered the equipment was missing. Three DU students were reported to be in the room at the time of the theft. Disposition pending report review.
Purse stolen
On Sunday, Feb. 10, at 7:08 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at the College of Law.
An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student left her purse unsecured and unattended in the commons area on the third floor at 6:15 p.m. When she returned at 7 p.m. she discovered the purse was missing. The student was advised to file a report with the Denver Police Department.
Reckless driving
On Monday, Feb. 11, at 1:30 a.m. a Campus Safety officer was conducting a routine patrol near East Jewell Avenue and South High Street when he observed a traffic accident. An on-scene investigation revealed an unaffiliated party driving a personal vehicle struck several traffic signs. The party appeared to be intoxicated.
The Denver Police Department and the Denver Fire Department responded. Paramedics transported the party to Denver Health Medical Center for medical treatment. Campus Safety completed a report.
