Traffic accident

On Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 5:18 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a traffic accident at the corner of South Race Street and East Iliff Avenue. An on-scene investigation revealed an unaffiliated party left a note on a vehicle belonging to a DU student. The note accused the student of hitting the party’s vehicle. Disposition pending report review.

Disturbance at Kappa Sigma house

On Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 1:42 a.m. Campus Safety attempted to contact three males causing a disturbance near the Kappa Sigma fraternity house. The males fled southbound on foot. Campus Safety contacted one male who was identified as an unaffiliated party. The party was trespassed from campus. Campus Safety completed a report.

Theft in Towers

On Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 1:27 p.m. a student reported a theft at Centennial Towers. An on-scene investigation revealed personal electronic equipment was taken from a residence hall room between Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 1 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 1 p.m. It is unknown if the room was secure. The student was advised to file a report with the Denver Police Department. Disposition pending report review.

Suspicious writing

On Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 2 a.m. a Campus Safety officer was conducting a routine patrol in lot C near Centennial Halls when he observed suspicious writing in the dirt on the hood of a vehicle belonging to a DU student. Disposition pending report review.

Marijuana bust

On Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 2:12 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of the odor of marijuana coming from a residence hall room at Johnson-McFarlane Hall. An on-scene investigation revealed the room was unoccupied but drug paraphernalia was in plain view. Campus Safety confiscated the contraband. The Office of Citizenship of Community Standards will be notified.

Car theft

On Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 2:30 p.m. a DU student reported a theft in the 1900 block of East Iliff Ave. A Campus Safety report revealed the student parked and secured her vehicle on Oct. 15 at 9 a.m. When she returned to the vehicle on Oct. 17 at 12:15 p.m. she discovered the passenger side door was unsecure and the car stereo was missing. The student was advised to file a report with the Denver Police Department. Disposition pending report review.

Stolen bike

On Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 3:36 p.m. a DU student reported a theft at Centennial Towers. A Campus Safety report revealed the student secured her bike to the bicycle rack with an unapproved lock on Oct. 5, at 8 a.m. When she returned to retrieve the bicycle later that day at 12 p.m. she discovered it was missing. The student was advised to file a report with the Denver Police Department. Disposition pending report review.

Traffic accident

On Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 4 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a traffic accident in parking lot 306 north of Nelson Hall. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student driving a personal vehicle backed into a parked vehicle belonging to a DU staff member. Minor damage and no injuries were reported.

Theft at DU Bookstore

On Thursday, Oct. 18, at 9:16 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at the Driscoll Center. Campus Safety contacted and detained an unaffiliated party who was witnessed taking merchandise from the DU Bookstore. The Denver Police Department responded to the scene and cited the party for shoplifting.

DU staff member taken to hospital

On Thursday, Oct. 18, at 9:47 a.m. Campus Safety and the Denver Fire Department responded to the report of an ill party at the Driscoll Center. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU staff member was experiencing chest pains and having difficulty breathing. Paramedics recommended the staff member be transported to for medical treatment but the staff member declined.

Staff member seizure

On Thursday, Oct. 18, at 4:37 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of an ill party at the Ritchie Center. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU staff member was having a seizure. Paramedics transported the staff member to Porter Hospital.
