Unidentified odor
On Thursday, April 19, at 9:03 p.m. Campus Safety and the Denver Fire Department responded to the report of an unidentified odor at Centennial Halls. The building was evacuated, and the Denver Fire Department used fans to remove the odor from the building. The Denver Fire Department suspected pepper spray was the cause of the odor. No injuries were reported. Risk Management will be notified.
Unwanted advances
On Thursday, April 19, at 2:50 p.m. a DU student reported harassment at the Boettcher Center. The student reported another DU student was making unwanted advances toward her and wanted to document the incident. Campus Safety completed a report.
DU parking pass stolen
On Friday, April 20, at 9:44 p.m. a DU student reported a theft in the 1900 block of East Iliff Avenue. A Campus Safety report revealed the student parked his unsecured vehicle at 5 p.m. When he returned to the vehicle at 8:50 p.m., he discovered his DU parking pass was missing. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Car tires and rims stolen
On Friday, April 20, at 4:37 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft in parking lot 123 near the Cavalier apartments. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student parked his personal vehicle in the lot on April 19. When he returned at 4:30 p.m. on April 20, he discovered all four tires and rims were missing from the vehicle. The student filed a report with the Denver Police Department. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Students throw Frisbees at parked cars
On Friday, April 20, at 7:07 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a disturbance in parking lot 111 near La Chateau apartments. An on-scene investigation revealed four unidentified males were drinking and throwing Frisbees at parked vehicles. Campus Safety attempted to question the males and they fled the scene. Campus Safety confiscated 35 unopened alcohol containers and completed a report.
Fake ID confiscated from
intoxicated student
On Saturday, April 21, at 12:14 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of an intoxicated party at Centennial Halls. An on-scene investigation revealed an underage DU student was severely intoxicated. Campus Safety confiscated a false identification card. Denver Cares transported the student to a detox facility for medical treatment. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
Theft at Chambers Center
On Sunday, April 22, at 8:22 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at the Chambers Center. An on-scene investigation revealed person(s) broke the screen of an unsecured window and entered the building. A DU staff member reported personal items were missing from her desk. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Harrassment, racial slurs
On Sunday, April 22, at 5:15 p.m. a DU student reported an assault in the 2100 block of East Evans Avenue. A Campus Safety report revealed the student was approached by five unidentified males. One male made several racial slurs and struck the student with his fist. Medical assistance was declined. The student was advised to file a report with the Denver Police Department. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Cracked window
On Monday, April 23, at 4:55 a.m. a Campus Safety officer was conducting a routine patrol when he discovered a cracked window at the Buchtel House. An on-scene investigation revealed person(s) unknown used an identified object to crack a window on the west side of the building. Facilities Management will be notified. A Campus Safety investigation is on going.
Purse stolen at law school
On Monday, April 23, at 5:08 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at the law school. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student left her purse unsecured and unattended in a study room at 1:00 p.m. When she returned several minutes later to retrieve her purse, she discovered it was missing. The student was advised to file a report with the Denver Police Department. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Vandalism at Craig Hall
On Monday, April 23, at 11:39 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of vandalism at Craig Hall. An on-scene investigation revealed person(s) unknown damaged three pictures in the community room. The date and time the vandalism occurred is unknown. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Student fears contact
On Tuesday, April 24, at 2:30 p.m. a DU student reported concerns regarding an unaffiliated party. A Campus Safety report revealed the student’s mother had a temporary restraining order in place against the unaffiliated party. The student fears the party may attempt to contact her on campus. Campus Safety completed a report.
Traffic accident
On Tuesday, April 24, at 7:30 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a traffic accident near the law school. An on-scene investigation revealed an unaffiliated party was driving a personal vehicle when he struck the fence on the east side of Beta Theta Pi fraternity house. It appeared the party was driving too fast for road conditions. No injuries were reported. Risk Management will be notified.
Contraband found on roof
On Wednesday, April 25, at 11:54 a.m. a DU staff member reported contraband on the roof of Centennial Halls. Campus Safety confiscated the contraband and completed a report. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Student strikes gate, lies
On Wednesday, April 25, at 2:55 p.m. Campus Safety completed a report regarding vandalism in parking lot N. A DU student reported he was struck by the gate arm when entering the lot.
Video surveillance revealed the student purposefully made contact with the gate arm causing it to break. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
