Hit and run

On Saturday, Jan. 27, at 12:08 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a hit-and-run traffic accident in the 1900 block of S. York Street. An on-scene investigation revealed two DU students observed a vehicle driven by an unaffiliated party hit a parked vehicle. Campus Safety contacted the suspect and requested Denver Police Department assistance. The owner of the hit vehicle was contacted by phone and declined to pursue charges. The party was taken to a detox facility for medical treatment. Campus Safety completed a report.

Skid crash

On Saturday, Jan. 27, at 1:03 p.m. Campus Safety and Denver Police Department responded to the report of a traffic accident near parking lot 111. An on-scene investigation revealed an unaffiliated party was driving in the alley between South University Boulevard and South York Street when he slid into a university-owned vehicle driven by a DU staff member. Significant damage but no injuries were reported. Risk Management will be notified.

Dorm room trespasser

On Saturday, Jan. 27, at 3:53 p.m. Campus Safety and Denver Police Department responded to the report of a suspicious male at Centennial Towers. An on-scene investigation revealed an unaffiliated male in the restroom who appeared to be intoxicated. He was arrested by Denver Police Department for an outstanding warrant. Campus Safety completed a report.

Students deny smoking

On Saturday, Jan. 27, at 9:56 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of the odor of marijuana coming from a residence hall room at Centennial Halls. An on-scene investigation revealed two DU students were present but denied using marijuana although there was a strong odor in the room. There was no drug paraphernalia in plain view. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.

Roommate finds drugs

On Saturday, Jan. 27, at 11:18 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of drug paraphernalia in a residence hall room at Centennial Halls. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student found drug paraphernalia in her room and reported it to the resident assistant. Campus Safety confiscated the paraphernalia. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.

Caught: public urination

On Sunday, Jan. 28, at 1:57 a.m. Campus Safety officers were conducting a routine patrol in the 2100 block of East Asbury Avenue when they observed a vehicle traveling recklessly. The vehicle came to a stop in parking lot L where two males exited the vehicle and urinated in the lot. Campus Safety contacted the males who were later identified as DU students. One student fled and was apprehended at Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house. Denver Police Department responded and cited both students for urinating in public and cited one student for trespassing. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.

Cops chase urinator to SAE, drugs found

On Sunday, Jan. 28, at 1:58 a.m. Campus Safety was in pursuit of a fleeing suspect who ran into the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house. The suspect was found in a room belonging to a DU student. Campus Safety discovered and collected drug paraphernalia that was in plain view. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.

Stoner honesty

On Sunday, Jan. 28, at 10:16 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of the odor of marijuana coming from a residence hall room at Centennial Halls. An on-scene investigation revealed that two DU students admitted smoking marijuana and were in possession of drug paraphernalia. Campus Safety confiscated the paraphernalia. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.

False report

On Sunday, Jan. 28, at 11:44 p.m. Campus Safety responded to Centennial Towers then to Johnson-McFarlane to investigate the report of a domestic disturbance. Denver Police Department was already on-scene. An on-scene investigation revealed an unaffiliated party called Campus Safety and Denver Police Department from an off campus location and made a false report. The party was previously trespassed from campus for harassing a DU student. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.

Golf equipment stolen

On Monday, Jan. 29, at 4:25 p.m. a DU staff member reported a theft in the 2400 block of South University Boulevard. A Campus Safety report revealed practice equipment belonging to a DU student was taken from the golf team practice area between Jan. 24, and Jan. 29. The area is unsecured when it is in use. The staff member was advised to file a report with Denver Police Department. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.

Electronics swiped

On Monday, Jan. 29, at 5:40 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft from a residence hall room at Centennial Halls. An on-scene investigation revealed electronic equipment belonging to two DU students was taken between Saturday, Jan. 27, and Monday, Jan. 29. It is unknown if the room was secured. The students were advised to file a report with Denver Police Department. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.

Cheech and Chong?

On Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 11:35 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of the odor of marijuana coming from a residence hall room at Centennial Towers. An on-scene investigation revealed two underage DU students were in possession of alcohol and drug paraphernalia. Campus Safety confiscated the contraband. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
