In the Crime section of the Jan. 16 issue, we listed Sodexho as part of a collision. However, according to Stacee Montague from the Sodexho marketing division, Phipps Catering was part of the collision, not Sodexho.
MLK coverage
Dear editor,
There is a truth in the title “King’s dream fulfilled,” but not for the reasons cited in the article presented by Ms. Jessica Slosberg.
Dr. King is rolling over in his grave on the account of the fact that the African American culture that the African American culture has been given every opportunity and more to compete in today’s society, and has chosen to do little with it. While Dr. King is a noble man, his work and his principles have been abandoned many of his own people. If individuals and organizations such as you, the Clarion, continue to blame the problems of the African-American culture on racism and unfairness, there is NO hope for the culture. The only hope lies in the message of Dr. Cosby.

Visa: everywhere you want to be…
except on campus
I just tried to pay my tuition online using DU’s outsourced Tuition Management System. I only have access to a Visa at this point in time, and was told both by TMS representatives and representatives at the bursar’s office that DU (or DU’s card processing company, which was chosen by DU) has chosen to not accept Visa because of the “fees” involved.
The bursar’s office also informed me that they had investigated alternate card processing systems, none of which took Visa. Believe me when I say I do a lot of shopping online. I also travel extensively in 3 continents.
Never in my entire existence have I come to any company, online or otherwise, which accepts Mastercard and American Express but doesn’t accept Visa. I suppose most companies that want my money want to make it easy for me to give it to them. As a business student, I can understand why this is a good policy.
In a world where so much is done electronically, I can’t imagine the Daniels College of Business teaching its students that “The Customer is always right (unless they want to pay with Visa)”.
Perhaps I should be writing Visa to let them know they’re not everywhere I want to be.
Sincerely, Chad Tindel
