Rocking the Buddha

On Thursday, Oct. 26, at 2:08 p.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of the odor of marijuana coming from a residence hall room at Nelson Hall.

An on-scene investigation revealed marijuana and alcohol were found in an unoccupied room. The contraband was confiscated by Denver Police Department. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.

Trespassers ejected

On Saturday, Oct. 28, at 10:43 p.m. a Campus Safety employee monitoring the closed circuit television system, observed two parties acting suspiciously near the Centennial Towers bicycle rack.

Officers responded to investigate and contacted one man who had been removed from campus and he was arrested by Denver Police Department. The other man was issued a trespass notice and instructed not to return to campus. Campus Safety completed a report.

Unconscious student

On Sunday, Oct. 29, at 1:47 a.m. Campus Safety, Denver Police Department and Denver Fire Department responded to the report of an unconscious party near the Joy Burns Arena.

An on-scene investigation revealed the party was a DU student who was incoherent and appeared to be intoxicated. Paramedics transported the student Porter Hospital for medical treatment. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.

Cold as ice

On Sunday, Oct. 29, at 10:42 p.m. Campus Safety and Denver Fire Department responded to the report of an injured party at the Joy Burns Arena.

An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student was on the ice as a spectator during a broom ball hockey game when he accidentally fell and lost consciousness. Denver Fire Department transported the student to Swedish Hospital for medical treatment. Risk Management will be notified.

MySpace suicide threat

On Monday, Oct. 30, at 2:08 a.m. Campus Safety and Denver Police Department responded to the report of a suicidal student at Centennial Halls. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student threatened suicide on his MySpace page.

The student was taken to Porter Hospital for a medical evaluation. Campus Safety completed a report.

Alumnus back pains

On Monday, Oct. 30, at 8:09 p.m. Campus Safety and Denver Fire Department responded to the report of an ill man at the Penrose Library. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU alumnus was experiencing back pain.

Paramedics transported the man to Saint Joseph’s Medical Center for medical treatment. Campus Safety completed a report.

Car stolen

On Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 9:54 p.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of a stolen vehicle from the “L” parking garage adjacent to the Sturm College of Law.

An on-scene investigation determined the vehicle’s owner, a DU student, parked the vehicle in the lot at 7:10 a.m. that morning and discovered it missing when he returned to the lot at 9:40 p.m.

Denver Police Department was contacted and responded to the scene. Campus Safety and Denver Police Department reports were completed and assigned for investigation.

Car hits drunk students

On Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 11:18 p.m. Campus Safety, Denver Police Department and Denver Fire Department responded to the report of a traffic accident in the 2200 block of South University Boulevard.

An on-scene investigation revealed two DU students crossed against the traffic light and were struck by a vehicle driven by a third DU student.

The two underage students struck by the vehicle appeared to be intoxicated. The students reported minor injuries and were transported to an unidentified hospital for medical treatment.

The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
