Medical reform speaker
The Health Law Society is presenting Professor of Law and Dean Emeritus Edward Dauer, to speak on reforming medical liability.
Dauer will speak about how health courts would provide a more reliable system of medical justice than America’s current system.

Meet Roadtrip Nation
Campus Life will be hosting a discussion titled, ‘What do you want to do with your life?’ Wednesday from 6 – 8 p.m. This discussion will allow students to meet the Roadtrip Nation crew from TV.

First-year workshop
A first-year orientation workshop on the introduction to the Career Development Center and Internship Office will be held Wednesday from 5 – 6 p.m. in Sturm College of Law, room 165.

Asian cultural night
Campus Life is hosting an Asian cultural night featuring sushi, Taiko drummers, a harp player, giveaways, Japanese food, and demonstrations on how to make sushi. Event is free.

Open house ceremony
The Writing and Research Center is hosting an open house ceremony on Thursday from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Students will be able to meet the new Writing Program Faculty and be able to participate in games, activities, and writing contests.
All students are welcome to stop by and gain a clearer understanding of the Writing and Research Center. Students will also be able to compete for dozens of prizes. Documentary film
Amnesty International will show the documentary ‘Soldier Child.’ This documentary, directed by Neil Abramson, examines the rise and fall of religious zealot Joseph Kony in northern Uganda.
The documentary will be shown on Thursday from 12 – 1 p.m. in Sturm College of Law, room 125.
Science and writing
The lecture titled, ‘Science Labs and Writing Centers: Provocative Parallels’ will be held Thursday from 4 – 6 p.m. in the Renaissance Room of Mary Reed. This lecture will discuss current issues in writing, and the disciplines and writing centers.

Food drive
The North American Food Drive is gathering a collection of food and money for the needy in the Denver metro area. Money and food donations go to the Metro Caring organization in Denver.
Donations will take place at Daniels College of Business and all Greek houses on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

What not to wear
A workshop titled, ‘What not to wear: How to look attractive, authentic and appropriate, affordably’ will be held on Monday, Nov. 6, from 5 – 6 p.m. in Sturm College of Law, room 165. This workshop will discuss ways to dress for interviews and the four levels of personal and professional dress for men and women.
It will also focus on the traits that are communicated by the way you dress. The discussion will be led by Leah Oman of Smarter Image, Inc. and will present guidelines for dressing for interviews, informational interviews, and special events in the workplace. RSVP to DUlawcareers.net.

Bird flu presentation
A bird flu presentation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 4 – 5 p.m. in the Ritchie Center Multipurpose Room.
