Jacked electronics
On Thursday, May 11, at 10:02 a.m., a DU student reported a theft at the Ritchie Center. A Campus Safety report revealed that at 9 a.m. a student left his personal belongings in an unsecured storage cubby at the Coors Fitness Center. When he returned to retrieve the items at approximately 10 a.m. he discovered his iPod was missing. The student was advised he could contact the Denver Police Department to file a report. A Campus Safety investigation is on going.
Drunk but not driving
On Friday, May 12, at 4:57 a.m., a Campus Safety officer was conducting a routine patrol in parking lot C when he observed an unconscious party in the driver’s seat of parked vehicle. An on-scene investigation revealed the party was an underage and intoxicated DU student. Paramedics transported the student to Porter Hospital for medical treatment. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
Hot boxing
On Friday, May 12, at 1:50 a.m., a Campus Safety officer was conducting a routine patrol in parking lot 103 when he observed two DU students smoking marijuana. Campus Safety confiscated the drugs and drug paraphernalia. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
Hiding out
On Saturday, May 13, at 3:17 a.m., a Campus Safety officer was conducting a routine patrol in Nelson Hall when he discovered a DU student in a restricted area. The student was previously contacted in similar violations. The student refused to sign a trespass order prohibiting him from entering residence halls and closed buildings. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
Head injury
On Saturday, May 13, at 10:25 a.m., Campus Safety and the Denver Fire Department responded to the report of an injured party at Hamilton Gymnasium. An on-scene investigation revealed an unaffiliated minor was accidentally struck in the head during a basketball tournament. The minor’s parents were notified by telephone. Paramedics transported the minor to University Hospital for medical treatment. Risk Management will be notified.
Riled up
On Saturday, May 13, at 5:13 p.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of a disturbance at the Hamilton Gymnasium. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU staff member witnessed a disturbance between two unaffiliated groups of parents attending a basketball tournament. Both parties left the area prior to Campus Safety arrival. Campus Safety completed a report.
Stolen money
On Saturday, May 13, at 6:37 p.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at the College of Law. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU staff member left her wallet in the third floor lobby on May 12 at 12:30 a.m. When she returned to retrieve the wallet on May 13 at 6:30 p.m., she discovered it was missing. A Campus Safety investigation is on going.
Fake ID
On Sunday, May 14, at 1:30 a.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of an intoxicated party in front of Centennial Towers. An on-scene investigation revealed the party appeared to be intoxicated and provided Campus Safety with false identification. The Denver Police Department was requested and identified the individual as an unaffiliated party. The party was arrested by the Denver Police Department and removed from campus.
Grand theft auto
On Sunday, May 14, at 3:06 a.m., Campus Safety and the Denver Police Department responded to the report of a vehicle theft in the 2400 block of South University Boulevard. An on-scene investigation revealed a personal vehicle belonging to a DU staff member was taken between May 13 at 5:40 p.m. and May 14 at 2:30 a.m. Campus Safety and Denver Police Department investigations are on going.
Gas leak
On Sunday, May 14, at 8:32 a.m., Campus Safety and the Denver Police Department responded to the report of a gas leak at the Driscoll Center. An on-scene investigation revealed gas was leaking from a kitchen stove. The Denver Fire Department shut off the gas lines to the stove. Facilities Management was notified.
Ibuprofen overdose
On Sunday, May 14, at 9:40 a.m., Campus Safety and the Denver Police Department responded to the report of an ill party at Hilltop Hall. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student took a large number of ibuprofen. Paramedics transported the party to Porter Hospital for medical treatment.
Enjoying the stars
On Monday, May 15, at 12:17 a.m., a DU staff member reported a suspicious party in front of the La Chateau apartments. An on-scene investigation revealed an unaffiliated party was lying on top of a vehicle. The party denied being under the influence of drugs or alcohol but was visibly unstable. Denver Cares transported the party to a detox facility for medical treatment.
Sexual assault
On Monday, May 15, at 9:35 a.m., a DU student reported a sexual assault that occurred at an off-campus residence on Saturday, May 13. A Campus Safety report revealed the suspect is an unaffiliated party. The Denver Police Department assistance was declined. Campus Safety completed a report.
Roof trespass
On Monday, May 15, at 9:54 a.m., a DU staff member reported vandalism at Centennial Halls. An on-scene investigation revealed person(s) unknown broke the clasp and hinge pins on a door leading to the roof of the South Tower. Empty alcohol containers were found on the roof. Facilities Management was notified. A Campus Safety investigation is on going.
Lacrosse mishap
On Wednesday, May 17, at 8:02 a.m., a DU student reported a vehicle theft in the 2100 block of South High Street. An on-scene investigation revealed the student parked his personal vehicle at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 15. When he returned on Wednesday, May 17 at 7:55 a.m. he found the vehicle was missing. The student will contact the Denver Police Department to file a report.
