Peeping Tom
On Monday, April 17, at 11:08 p.m., a DU student reported a Peeping Tom in the 2400 block of South Gaylord Street. A Campus Safety report revealed the student witnessed an unidentified party looking into an apartment window. The Denver Police Department and Campus Safety conducted a search of the area and interviewed a possible suspect. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Trapped
On Monday, April 17, at 9:45 p.m., Campus Safety and the Denver Fire Department responded to the report of a party trapped in an elevator at Sturm Hall. The Denver Fire Department released the party, a DU staff member, from the elevator. No injuries were reported. Facilities Management was notified.
Hit and hike
On Monday, April 17, at 4:55 p.m., a Campus Safety officer was conducting a routine patrol in parking lot 103 when he was contacted by a DU student regarding a hit-and-run traffic accident. An on-scene investigation revealed the student’s personal vehicle was parked in the lot and was struck by another vehicle. Minor damage was reported. Video surveillance identified the suspect’s vehicle. The student was advised he could file a report with the Denver Police Department. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Bumper cars
On Tuesday, April 18, at 6:08 p.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of a hit-and-run traffic accident in parking lot 103. An on-scene investigation revealed a vehicle belonging to a DU student was parked in the lot. The vehicle parked behind it struck the bumper, causing minor damage. The suspect vehicle was registered to a DU student. The student was advised he could file a report with the Denver Police Department. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Lost lock
On Tuesday, April 18, at 10:49 a.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at the Ritchie Center. An on -scene investigation revealed DU student placed his personal items in a locker and secured it with a combination lock. When he returned to retrieve them he found the lock was missing and the items had been removed. The student was advised he could file a report with the Denver Police Department. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Sorority break-in
On Wednesday, April 19, at 9:08 p.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft from a vehicle parked behind Delta Delta Delta sorority house. An on-scene investigation revealed a vehicle belonging to a DU student had a broken window and electronic equipment was reported missing. The theft occurred between 10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at 9 a.m. on April 19. The student was advised she could file a report with the Denver Police Department.
Window wreckage
On Wednesday, April 19, at 12:05 a.m., a DU staff member reported vandalism in parking lot 119. An on-scene investigation revealed a vehicle belonging to a DU student had a broken window. Campus Safety attempted to contact the student with no success. It is unknown if any items were taken from the vehicle. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Hot and ready
On Wednesday, April 19, at 6:00 p.m., Campus Safety and the Denver Fire Department were conducting a fire evacuation drill at University South Apartments. A DU student would not comply with fire drill instructions. The student attempted re-enter the building before it was okay to do so. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
Prying at the ELC
On Thursday, April 20, at 7:09 a.m., Campus Safety and the Denver Police Department responded to the report of an attempted burglary at the English Language Center. An on-scene investigation revealed person(s) unknown pried open an exterior door. No items were reported missing. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Confiscated pot
On Thursday, April 21, at 12:23 a.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of the odor of marijuana coming from a residence hall room at Nelson Hall. An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student was in possession of marijuana and property belonging to the University. Campus Safety confiscated the marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
Glass theft
On Friday, April 21, at 2:00 p.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of theft at Nelson Hall. An on scene investigation revealed a glass container was taken from the dining room between April 20 at 9:30 p.m. and April 21 at 6:30 a.m. Denver Police Department assistance was declined. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Drunken squat
On Saturday, April 22, at 9:00 p.m., a Campus Safety officer was conducting a routine patrol near Margery Reed Hall when he observed an underage and intoxicated DU student defecating on the stairs. The Denver Police Department responded and arrested the student for indecent acts. He was transported to Denver City Jail. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
Threatening message
On Sunday, April 23, at 12:36 p.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of harassment at Centennial Halls. An on-scene investigation revealed person(s) unknown tampered with a laptop and left a threatening voice mail message on a telephone belonging to a DU student. A request was submitted to Facilities to re-key the residence hall room. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
On Sunday, April 23, at 12:36 p.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of harassment at Centennial Halls. An on-scene investigation revealed person(s) unknown tampered with a laptop and left a threatening voice mail message on a telephone belonging to a DU student. A request was submitted to Facilities to re-key the residence hall room. A DCS investigation is on going.
