Dough Foe
On Thursday, Feb. 2, at 1:40 p.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at the Gates Field House.
A DU staff member reported cash was taken from a cash register in a secured office.
The theft occurred between Jan. 27, at 8:00 p.m. and Jan. 28, at 9:00 a.m. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Hit-and-run
On Friday, Feb. 3, at 2:31 p.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of a hit and run traffic accident in parking lot H1.
An on-scene investigation revealed a personal vehicle belonging to a DU student was struck by an unknown vehicle between Feb. 1, at 8:00 p.m., and Feb. 3, at 9:30 a.m. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Menacing messages
On Friday, Feb. 3, at 4:30 p.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of harassment at Penrose library.
An on-scene investigation revealed a DU staff member received a phone call from an unaffiliated party who stated he was receiving threatening email messages that originated from a Penrose computer.
There was no evidence supporting the party’s claim. Campus Safety completed a report.
Stolen stereo
On Sunday, Feb. 5, at 12:30 p.m., Campus Safety was contacted by a former DU student regarding a theft from vehicle in the 1900 block of S. York Street.
A Campus Safety report revealed that between Feb. 4, at 8:00 p.m., and Feb. 5, at 12:00 p.m., an unknown party broke the passenger side window and removed the dash and stereo from the vehicle.
The party will file a report with Denver Police Department.
Hauling housewares
On Sunday, Feb. 5, at 7:35 p.m., a Campus Safety officer was conducting a routine patrol near Chi Phi fraternity house when he discovered an unidentified male exiting the fraternity house through the North entrance with unknown items.
Campus Safety attempted to contact the individual and an unknown female but they fled the area prior to Campus Safety arrival.
Campus Safety recovered a bucket full of household items.
Campus Safety contacted the fraternity house president and advised him he could file a report with the Denver Police Department.
Beaten bush
On Monday, Feb. 6, at 8:30 a.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of vandalism in parking lot 118.
An on-scene investigation revealed an unknown party drove a vehicle through a hedge on the north side of the parking lot. The vandalism occurred between Feb. 3 and Feb. 6. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Rack wreckage
On Monday, Feb. 6, at 5:50 p.m., a Campus Safety officer witnessed a DU student damaging a parking lot gate arm while he was conducting a routine patrol in lot 103.
A Campus Safety report revealed a DU student did not swipe his DU identification and followed another vehicle into the lot.
The gate arm got caught on a ski rack on top of the vehicle and the arm broke. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Drug confiscation
On Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 12:34 a.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of the odor of marijuana coming from a residence hall room at Centennial Halls.
An on-scene investigation revealed three underage DU students were in possession of contraband.
Campus Safety confiscated the drugs and drug paraphernalia that were present.
Campus Safety also disposed of empty alcohol bottles found in the room. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.
Fleeing foreigner
On Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 6:44 a.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of unwanted party at The Ritchie Center.
An on-scene investigation revealed a DU staff member confronted an unknown male that did not belong in an administrative office.
The staff member attempted to close the office door and contact Campus Safety.
The male pushed the door open and fled the area. No items were reported to be missing or damaged. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Damage at the dock
On Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 8:50 p.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of a traffic accident at the Newman Center.
An on-scene investigation revealed a DU staff member parked a University owned vehicle in the loading dock area.
When the staff member backed out of the dock, he made contact with a vehicle belonging to an unknown party.
Only minor damage was reported. Campus Safety contact information was left on the unknown party’s vehicle. Risk Management will be notified.
Vanishing inventory
On Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 9:33 a.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at the Mary Reed Building.
An on-scene investigation revealed a DU staff member discovered University property missing while he was conducting inventory.
Denver Police Department assistance was declined. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.
Dorm robbery
On Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 12:12 p.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at Centennial Halls.
An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student left his residence hall room unsecured between 11:45 a.m. and 11:55 a.m.
When he returned, he discovered a jersey missing from the room. The student was advised he could file a report with the Denver Police Department.
