Big Brother

On Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 4:22 p.m., a DU staff member reported vandalism to the gate arm in parking lot C. Video surveillance revealed a vehicle belonging to an unidentified party tried to drive underneath the gate arm on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 10:15 p.m.

The passenger from the vehicle was unable to lift the arm enough for the vehicle to pass underneath. The vehicle left the area and the passenger broke off the gate arm. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.

Denting device

On Thursday, Feb. 9, at 1:50 p.m., a DU student reported the gate arm in parking lot L malfunctioned and damaged his personal vehicle. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.

Tipsy wanderer

On Friday, Feb. 10, at 1:05 a.m., a Campus Safety officer was conducting a routine patrol near parking lot L when he discovered a party who was having trouble standing. An on-scene investigation revealed the party was an underage and intoxicated DU student.

Denver Cares transported the student to a detox facility for medical treatment. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.

Confrontation

On Friday, Feb. 10, at 1:05 a.m., a DU student was interfering with a Campus Safety investigation near parking lot L.

A Campus Safety report revealed the student was not involved in the investigation and was repeatedly asked to leave the area. The student refused to leave and became belligerent with Campus Safety officers. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.

Plotting pedestrian

On Friday, Feb. 10, at 4 p.m., a DU staff member reported vandalism to a gate arm in parking lot L.

Video surveillance revealed an unidentified party was walking through the lot and broke the gate arm. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.

Tongs in the toaster

On Friday, Feb. 10, at 1 p.m., Campus Safety and the Denver Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Centennial Halls.

An on-scene investigation revealed an unknown party left a pair of plastic tongs in a toaster. Smoke from the toaster activated the alarm. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.

Greek break-in, part I

On Friday, Feb. 10, at 1:30 p.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of vandalism at the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity house parking lot. An on-scene investigation revealed a personal vehicle belonging to a DU student had a broken windshield.

The student was advised he could file a report with the Denver Police Department. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.

Student arrest

On Friday, Feb. 10, at 11:06 p.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of contraband at Johnson-McFarlane Hall.

An on-scene investigation revealed a DU student was in possession of contraband. The contraband was confiscated by the Denver Police Department and the student was arrested for possession of an illegal substance. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.

Greek break-in, part II

On Saturday, Feb. 11, at 8:25 p.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft from vehicle at the Delta Delta Delta sorority house parking lot. An on-scene investigation revealed a personal vehicle belonging to a DU student had a broken window.

The radio face plate and personal items were taken from the vehicle. The student was advised she could file a report with the Denver Police Department.

There she goes…

On Saturday, Feb. 11, at 10:43 a.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of a traffic accident at parking lot L. A DCS report revealed a personal vehicle belonging to an unaffiliated party was parked on the second level of the parking structure. The vehicle’s parking brake was not set. The vehicle rolled down the ramp to the first level and struck the wall. There was significant damage to the driver’s side of the vehicle. Campus Safety completed a report.

Sturm stealings

On Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 4:10 p.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of a theft at Sturm Hall. An on-scene investigation revealed that university property was taken from three classrooms between Feb. 10, at 10 a.m. and Feb. 14, at 10 a.m. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.

Toe catastrophe

On Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 8:45 p.m., Campus Safety and the Denver Police Department responded to the report of an injured party at the El Pomar Natatorium. An on-scene investigation revealed an unaffiliated party cut her toe on a drainage system cover. Paramedics transported the party to Porter Hospital for medical treatment.

Much ado

On Sunday, Feb. 12, at 2:37 a.m., Campus Safety, the Denver Fire Department, and the Denver Police responded to the report of an intoxicated party at Johnson-McFarlane Hall. An on-scene investigation revealed an underage and intoxicated student was ill in a first-floor restroom. Paramedics determined the student did not require medical treatment. The student was allowed to return to his room. The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.

Debilitating debate

On Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 12:02 a.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of an injured party at Centennial Halls. An on-scene investigation revealed two DU students were involved in an altercation. One of the students had a swollen cheek and became ill after the altercation. Paramedics transported the student to Porter Hospital for medical treatment.
