Violent violator

On Friday, Feb.17, at 10:25 a.m., a Campus Safety parking enforcement officer contacted an unaffiliated party regarding a parking violation.

The party was uncooperative and fled the area, nearly causing harm to Campus Safety officers.

A report was made with the Denver Police Department.

Tongue troubles

On Friday, Feb. 17, at 3:21 p.m., Campus Safety and Denver Fire Department responded to the report of an injured party at the Fisher Early Learning Center.

An on-scene investigation revealed a sibling of a Fisher student placed his tongue on a metal flag pole.

When the sibling removed his tongue, it was bleeding.

Paramedics treated the sibling and he was released to his mother.

Risk Management will be notified.

Unruly at the law school

On Friday, Feb. 17, at 12:30 a.m., a DU student reported disorderly conduct at the College of Law.

The student reported that two DU students were playing loud music and swearing at her.

The two students were contacted and denied having an argument with the reporting party. Campus Safety completed a report.

Sexual assault

On Friday, Feb.17, at 9:25 a.m., a DU student reported a sexual assault at Johnson-McFarlane Hall.

A Campus Safety report revealed the student was sexually assaulted by another DU student on Jan. 27.

Denver Police assistance was declined. A Campus Safety investigation is on going.

Freeze alarm

On Saturday, Feb. 18, at 3:39 a.m., Campus Safety, Denver Fire Department and Facilities Management responded to the report of a fire alarm at Nelson Hall.

An on-scene investigation revealed a stand pipe on the west side of Nelson Hall burst due to the cold temperature.

Significant water damage was reported. Risk Management will be notified.

Gun shot at van

On Monday, Feb. 20, at 11:40 a.m., Campus Safety was contacted by Denver Police Department regarding a shot fired at a van belonging to an unaffiliated party driving eastbound on East Iliff Avenue near South Gaylord Street.

There were no injuries reported. The vehicle’s windshield was significantly damaged.

A Denver Police Department investigation is ongoing.

Ominous odors

On Monday, Feb. 20, at 8:48 p.m., Campus Safety responded to the report of the odor of marijuana at Centennial Towers.

An on-scene investigation revealed the odor was coming from a residence hall room on the seventh floor.

There was one DU student of legal drinking age in the room and one DU student who was not.

Both students admitted to consuming alcohol but denied smoking marijuana.

The alcohol present was confiscated by Campus Safety.

The Office of Citizenship and Community Standards will be notified.

No more wheelies

On Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 1:00 p.m., a DU student reported a theft from a bicycle rack at Johnson-McFarlane Hall.

A Campus Safety report revealed the front bicycle wheel was removed by an unknown party between Jan. 15 and Feb. 3. Campus Safety completed a report.

Rocky ruckus

On Thursday, Feb. 23, at 3:15 a.m., Campus Safety and Facilities Management responded to the report of vandalism at Johnson-McFarlane Hall.

An on-scene investigation revealed unknown person(s) threw a rock through a window on the West side of the building. A Campus Safety investigation is ongoing.

Trip to detox

On Friday, February 24, 2006 at 12:26 a.m. Campus Safety responded to the report of an intoxicated party at Johnson-McFarlane Hall.

An on-scene investigation revealed the party was an underage and intoxicated DU student.

Denver Cares transported the student to a detox facility for medical treatment.
