Modern times call for modern methods of discourse and communication.Since the world has become a global village and a global marketplace, we must develop a universal, mathematically modeled communication method to increase information flow and scientific development. Communication must enter a mathematical realm, with categorical significance for each syllable. There are many starter languages following these same guidelines. 7B3, developed within the last decade, has already seen success in short term basic language conversation through numbers. All of us are familiar with the 21 Questions game where you envision a lion and the little machine guesses it through a process of elimination. This process, of categorizing nouns, can be used as the basis for a new language. Other grammatical categories such as verbs, adjectives, adverbs, connectors (conjunctions and prepositions would also be categorized. It is easiest to envision the new language as a new science. If I had a lioness to name, I would begin with “ark symbol” – standing for Animal. Then “ent symbol – standing for Mammal. Then an “ist symbol” – standing for female. All syllables must start with a vowel and end with a consonant. Each symbol must have a meaning that remains the same in any situation. Nouns, such as “esk-alt symbols” – for lion, would largely be taken over by forms of description. Those that remained would take on the same pronunciation through a regeneration of the symbols that most closely resemble the name. Creating this new language sounds like more trouble than it’s worth – but with a databased and categorical language we can enhance a worldwide information flow the likes of which has never been seen. All words entered into a search engine could be searched for easily and by category. Police departments could make reports that, once written, would be automatically placed in correct and multiple database – eliminating paperwork for all. Each word would have multiple meanings and categories stored within it. The international language barrier would cease to exist and the era of international free trade of ideas would create a new scientific revolution. Language is the basis of information transfer. The future will hopefully see a growth of “four senses discussion,” wherein contact could take place through sight, smell, touch and sound in capsule of communication. This would exponentially quicken our ability to transfer, understand, and develop ideas and theories on a worldwide level. If for no other reason, the development of a universal language must find a home in the scientific community. We have cars and spaceships and greenhouse gas – why does the world still speak in the letters and sounds of a distant past. Today’s language must develop in a way worthy of our times and beholding of our capacity.
