Dear Clarion staff,I want to make you aware that the Board of Trustees Student Affairs Committee met this morning. Members of the committee expressed concern about the tone of the headlines used in the weekly Crime Report. Although some of the headlines are straightforward and objective, some are, at times, an inappropriate attempt at humor. The committee is particularly concerned when this relates to substance abuse by students. This week, for example, two of the headlines are “Bashed senior” and “Lawn lush.” Given the seriousness of the situation when a student is sent to detox, the glib headlines don’t seem appropriate. Thanks for considering this point of view.Jo Calhoun
