Holocaust Awareness

Hillel of DU will sponsor Holocaust Awareness Day today, May 10.

The events of the day include the Field of Flags and guest speaker Vivien Spitz.

The flags can be viewed today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Driscoll Lawn.

Spitz, the recorder the Nuremburg trials, will make an appearance as guest lecturer.

Spitz will be talking about her new book, Doctors From Hell: Nazi Medicine and Experiments on Prisoners of the Concentration Camps.

The lecture will take place, from 7-8 p.m in Lindsey Auditorium in Sturm Hall. Both events are free and open to the public.

Fair Trade Week

The week of May 16-19 is Fair Trade Week at DU.

Events will occur throughout the week at Sturm Hall.

Monday, at 9 a.m., the events will kick off. Information tables will be available, showcasing local Fair Trade groups and companies.

Tuesday, at 5 p.m., guest speaker Mark Overly from Kaladi Brothers Coffee will give his speech “Fair Trade Coffee From the Roasters Perspective.”

Wednesday, at 5 p.m., guest speaker Joe Campe, Southwest regional coordinator of United States for Fair Trade will give his speech “A Deeper Understanding of Fair Trade.”

Thursday, at 5 p.m., a speaker from Coffee Kids will speak about “Women, Fair Trade, and Beyond.”

At 6 p.m., the Fair Trade Documentary Festival begins, including a DU student documentary on CAFTA.

HEEB Editor

The editor-in-chief of HEEB, a trendy Jewish magazine, will speak on campus on Friday at 8 p.m.

Dinner will be provided before the speech at the Hillel House, 2240 East Wesley Avenue.

Both events will be free of charge.
