The AUSA Senate discussed tsunami relief efforts on campus and in the local community at its meeting last week.
Funds are to be raised at a benefit lunch at Monday, Jan. 31, from 11a.m. -2 p.m.
The location is Driscoll Ballroom.
Ton Fenn, a DU alumnus and owner of Stick-e-Rice, located on University Boulevard near Evans Avenue said that he is coordinating a non-profit dinner to take place on Thursday, Feb. 3.
The proceeds will go toward relief for victims in Thailand.
The Stick-e-Rice event will feature a program that will include various clergyfrom various religions, guest speakers, slide shows and performances with an orchestra and soloists, said Fenn.
“The event on Thursday will promote awareness,” says Carl Johnson, director of Student Programs and Greek Life, “and the event on Sunday will really bring it home.”
Both events will be during the week of Winter Carnival. The Senate also discussed changes to its Web site within the next few weeks with the addition of a face list and phone numbers for its members.
