Israel’s relations with Asia
Author and U.S. Air Force Professor Dr. Jacob Abadi will give a lecture entitled “Israel’s Quest for Acceptance and Recognition in Asia” tonight from 7 to 9 p.m.
The event will be held in Cyber Cafe in lower level Ben Cherrington Hall, 2201 S. Gaylord St. The event is free, but reservations are required by calling x3094.
Abadi will provide an overview of Israel’s relations with Asian countries from 1948 until the present, touching on the political, social and economic factors in various Asian countries and the role that each played in the process of rapprochement with Israel.

Eat lunch, honor global ambassadors
There will be an I-House Luncheon Thursday from noon to 1:30 p.m. to honor Global Ambassadors at DU.
Doug Patterson, the new Canadian Consul in Denver, will attend.

Climb offers jazz Wednesday
The Climb, faculty jazz combo, will be performed tomorrow from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Gates Concert Hall in the Newman Center for Performing Arts.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $13 for seniors and may be purchased at the Newman Center Box Office or by calling x7720.
All students and DU community with ID may receive free tickets.

View art by seniors
The Senior BFA Exhibit opening reception will be held in the Victoria H. Myhren Gallery Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
This exhibition features work by graduating seniors in the School of Art and Art History’s BFA programs in studio art and eMAD.
Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Arthritis walk
The Rocky Mountain chapter of the Arthritis Foundation is holding three fundraising arthritis walks in Denver at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 22. The locations are: the Butterfly Pavilion, Lake Loveland and Douglas County High School.

Kan’Nal in concert
The band Kan’Nal will be headlining on Friday at the Fox Theatre, located at 1135 13th St. in Boulder, along with Analog Quartet and The Ethereal Plane.
The concert costs $3 at the door and is only available for persons 21+. The band will also be performing at the Boulder Creek Festival on Saturday, May 29 at 6:30 p.m. All ages are admitted and tickets are free.
