Alfonso Gomez, who trains in the Francisco Panchito Bojado (last fight on HBO 24 Jan 2004) camp will be attempting to extend his four fight win streak in Denver, Colorado against Bernardo Guereca of El Paso, TX. The hard hitting Los Angeles based Mexican welterweight is coming off three big KO wins with over 6 knockdowns collected in his previous four fights. Gomez is managed by famed advisor Shelly Finkel (Mike Tyson advisor) and Frank Acosta. Bojado will be in attendance for autograph signings.
In the co-main event, Denver based heavyweight Kenny Lemos, known as “The Sagrado Warrior” will be taking on tough journeyman Louis Monaco. Kenny is attempting to make history by becoming the first Mexican American heavyweight to capture a world championship. Monaco has taken on top heavyweights such as Michael Grant, Fres Oquendo, Vitali Klitschko, Kirk Johnson & Buster Douglas and will be a good test for young Kenny Lemos. Also making his much anticipated professional debut is national amateur champion Mike Alvarado. Junior Welterweight Alvarado has been compared to the likes of Felix Trinidad and will provide Colorado with much needed excitement.
