Get in line now. Under the Tuscan Sun, a delightful romantic adventure, will be coming to DVD and VHS on Feb. 3. This box-office hit, starring the amazing Diane Lane, “Unfaithful”, “The Perfect Storm”, is based off a novel of the same name by Frances Mayes.
It tells the story of Frances Mayes, a San Francisco writer who is down on her luck and freshly divorced.
Her friend Patti, Sandra Oh, tries to shake Frances out of her depression with a ten-day trip to Tuscany.
While they are there, in the heart of Italy, Frances makes an impulsive and life-changing decision: she buys an old villa named Bramasole which means, literally, “something that yearns for the sun.”
Frances’ brand new life proves to be full of challenges and adventures.
As she works on restoring Bramasole, she realizes that life never seems to run out of second chances.
Laughter, friendship, and eventually romance find their way back into her life and she rediscovers who she is.
The film draws its greatest glory from the beauty of the Tuscan countryside, but convincing performances from both Lane and Oh make it a worthwhile experience.
“Under the Tuscan Sun” is ideal for pity parties, Friday nights and any other time when a solid, uplifting film is in order. Be sure not to miss it.
