Turning wheels of justice
The International Studies Student Association and Sigma Iota Rho will sponsor a part of the Wheels of Justice Tour Thursday at 12 p.m. in Ben Cherrington Hall, room 201.
The purpose of the event is to educate people about the United States’ military action abroad.
Speakers at the event will include representatives from the International Solidarity Movement.
—————————————————– Play examines 9/11 tragedy
tomorrow NIGHT at 7:30 p.m. the Newman Center Byron Theatre will host the play, “The Guys,” by Anne Nelson and presented by The Actors’ Gang and Tim Robbins Artistic Director. “The Guys” is a two-character play about a journalist’s personal experiences in the aftermath of Sept. 11.
The play focuses on such questions as, what can a writer do to help restore normalcy in a traumatized society?
Audience discussions with the actors, who portray firefighters and emergency workers, will follow each performance. The play will run until Sunday, Sept. 21.

Water as art
The exhibit, “H20” is currently on display at the Victoria H. Myhren gallery in the Shwayder Art Building, and will run until Nov. 4.
This exhibit explores water and its role in life on Earth, human bodies and the environment. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Opera looks at not-so-true love
On Friday, Sept. 19 at 7:30 p.m., the Newman Center will present the Colorado Opera Troupe’s, “Femme Fatales.”
This opera focuses on the lives and high jinx of two women, Carmen and Salome, both of whom are described as the ultimate “femme fatales.” This duo use their charm, intelligence and sensuality to gain control over situations and suitors who vie for their attention.

Free concert
“Flo’s Underground” performs Friday, Sept. 19 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Newman Center for Performing Arts.
The concert will feature jazz from the Lamont Jazz Combos and the Lamont Ensemble Concert Series. Admission is free to the public.

Performing Arts Festival is back
The Colorado Performing Arts Festival is this Saturday and Sunday at the Denver Performing Arts Complex on Speer and Arapahoe Blvd. in downtown Denver.
This year’s Festival will feature the area’s finest music ensembles, dance troupes, cultural performers and theatre productions.
Festival hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free and open to the public.

Five concerts set for Denver
This Saturday, Sept. 20 at 8:00 p.m. The Temptations will be playing at the Universal Lending Pavilion with an opening performance by J Marc. The show is sponsored by KOOL 105 and Alexander Capital Management.
Next Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 8:30 p.m. Billy Idol will be playing at the Fillmore Auditorium. The concert is sponsored by the Coors Light Concert Series.
Friday, Sept. 26 at 7:30 p.m. The Used will be playing with S.T.U.N. at the Fillmore Auditorium with openers Yellowcard and Story of the Year. The show is sponsored by Channel 93.3.
On Sept. 30 at 7:30 p.m. Atmosphere will be playing with Odd Jobs, Micranots, Brother Ali and BK One at the Fillmore Auditorium, presented by Radio 1190 and the Coors Light Concert Series.
