DU May Daze was held on the Driscoll Lawn last week.

May Daze was a week of fun activities designed to help students relax. The slogan of the week was “Regress to Recess.” The free T-shirts bore a very Sesame Street-like logo.

Tuesday, May 6 was inflatables-on-the-lawn day. There was an air castle and an inflatable slide. There was also Jamba Juice and Starbucks. Volleyball was set up late in the afternoon, and music was played throughout the day.

Wednesday, free squirt guns were handed out to students, and the volleyball net was set up again. The majors and minors fair set up on the lawn nearby, and handed out free popcorn. SEARCH also sponsored a drinking and driving program. The Israeli Independence Day celebration, sponsored by Hillel, gave out free food that evening.

On Thursday, students were treated to finger painting, ice cream straight from the truck, and more volleyball. Live bands played, and the Greek See-Saw-A-Thon went on in the background. “Billy Madison” was shown at 8 p.m. on the Driscoll Lawn.

Friday was field day, which included 3-legged races, an egg toss, an obstacle course, games of red rover and more.

May Daze is an annual DU event.
