Vandalisms and car break-ins have continued on the DU campus following episodes that occurred over spring break.

During break, there were five reports of car break-ins in the Nelson Hall parking garage.

Windows were broken and personal property was stolen, including stereos, speakers, CDs, boots and other personal items. All of the incidents happened while the campus was closed due to the snowstorm beginning March 18.

They were all reported March 20 between the times of 12 a.m. and 12:20 a.m.

Because of the weather, there was an electrical glitch during which the cameras in Nelson garage were not functioning.

Therefore, Campus Safety was not able to record what happened or who committed these crimes.

Interim Director of Campus Safety Tyrone Mills said that Campus Safety “have not gotten any calls,” but he is “still hoping someone will come forward.”

DU is offering $1,000 to anyone who submits any information that can lead to the discovery of the perpetrators of these five crimes.

Contact Cpl Raymond Juan at (303) 871-2139 or Investigator Albert Monger at (303) 871-4226 to report any information.
