Property Damage

On Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 10:47 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a staff member regarding the intentional damage of an outdoor light fixture located near the Ritchie Center. The staff member stated they had surveillance footage documenting the incident. Facilities was notified and responded to the scene to make necessary repairs.

On Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 10:48 a.m., while responding to the prior incident, officers took a second report from the same staff member about damage to trash cans on the west side of the Ritchie Center. The staff member provided Campus Safety with surveillance footage of the incident.

On Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 10:55 a.m., a Parking Enforcement Officer (PEO) took a report from a staff member who stated a University owned vehicle was damaged while parked in parking lot 301. The staff member stated the damage most likely occurred between 9:20 a.m. and 10:50 a.m.

On Friday, Oct. 12, at 2:17 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding vandalism in Centennial Towers. The reporting party stated that cameras in the building had been intentionally damaged. Officers reviewed surveillance footage from the cameras in question and discovered that a male student was responsible for the damage.

Theft

On Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 12:23 p.m., Campus Safety  took a report regarding the theft of several items from a media platform in the Hamilton Gymnasium which occurred during the Presidential Debate. Further information pending investigation.

On Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 8:50 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call from a student regarding the theft of their bag from the Centennial Halls dining room. The student stated that they had forgotten the bag in the dining room and that when they returned to retrieve it approximately 14 hours later, it was gone. The bag contained the student’s passport, cash and identification.

On Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 5:32 p.m., Campus Safety  responded to a call from a student regarding the theft of their smart phone. The student stated that their phone had been stolen from a bag inside of a classroom in the Newman Center for Performing Arts and that tracking software had pinpointed the phone’s new location as Johnson-McFarlane Hall. Officers assisted the student but were unable to recover the phone.

Alcohol

On Thursday, Oct. 11, at 12:28 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding an intoxicated student in Centennial Halls. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with the student in question and contacted paramedics for assistance. The student was ultimately transported to Porter Hospital by paramedics.

On Friday, Oct. 12, at 12:53 a.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding an intoxicated student in Johnson-McFarlane Hall. Upon arrival at the scene, officers spoke with the student in question who was visibly ill. Officers called paramedics who transported the student to Porter Hospital.

Drugs

On Tuesday, October 9, at 10:22 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding the odor of marijuana emanating from a room in Centennial Halls. Upon arrival at the scene, officers were admitted to the room in question where they spoke with two students. One student admitted to having marijuana, drug paraphernalia and alcohol in the room, all of which they surrendered to officers.

Medical

On Thursday, Oct. 11, at 11:55 p.m., Campus Safety responded to a call regarding a student who appeared to be unconscious on the south side of Centennial Halls. Officers responded to the scene and spoke with the student who was conscious but extremely intoxicated and uncooperative. Officers contacted the Denver Police Department and Denver Cares. The student was transported by Denver Cares to their facility.

On Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 7:07 p.m., while on routine patrol, a Campus Safety  officer observed vehicles belonging to paramedics and Denver Fire Department personnel in the circular driveway just north of Nelson Hall. Officers entered the building and spoke briefly with two students who stated one of the students needed medical assistance. Paramedics transported the student in question to Porter Hospital.
